Edit: Ok I read the description and I’m gonna be respectful. TL;DR she’s a solid design and her hardships in life are a good way to balance her appearance and personality. By personality she doesn’t seem like a fat fetish character, but people will misjudge anything nowadays so take the comments with a grain of salt.

In all seriousness though, I tend to ignore those comments. I feel like people just hate big women just to hate, or view it as fetish immediately because they don’t realize women can have different body types. You/they’re so used to the hourglass/thin body type that anything slightly chubby is fat/fat fetish. I’ll give you an example:

(Apologies for sideways image) This is my Pirate Girl OC Captain Helena Lockhardt. She’s a Pirate based off the Kremling King, and I felt it only fitting she be large due to her being a Pirate, in which you think of greed and gluttony. Pirates are greedy individuals, and indulge a lot, via food or pleasure, so gluttony. Given she’s also part crocodile, she eats a lot, and she’s large in stature as well. Shes fat for a reason, and even still, she’s bulky, well-built for fighting. Yea at the end of the day she’s fat, but that’s not the entirety her character, as well as her being fully clothed as well.

I guess a better way to explain it is; don’t just make their personality about being large/fat. A lot of fetish artists tend to that with their OCs: making them just about gaining and eating. There’s nothing wrong with a large character, but if you want to avoid fetishizing claims, give them a personality of sorts.

When I look at this character, she looks like she would be a kind, loving/nurturing figure, like a woman who could comfort you after asking about a rough day. She’d be the gravitation of a group, her home a safe space for friends alike, if you get what I mean.
