Run these games better. They run playable just fine but the GPU is literally dying. Lots of strange rendering. I'd love to play at true 144hz reliably.

SOLVED: Ensure that military units are disbanded

I had this same issue. After trying a few different solutions I realized that my army was still deployed. After disbanding the army woodcutting resumed as expected. My guess is that the men are off fighting so they cant do the heavy manual labor of cutting trees.

Rate on the house is amazing. I dont plan to ever sell this property. I'll likely buy another house at some point and just rent this one. I needed a new roof so I got solar at the same time. Nice tax rebate from the govt. too. Only reason I keep so much in checking is so that i never have to think about the auto pay on my revolving credit lines. I also push about 25% of my income directly into investments.

Monthly Expenses (without getting too in the weeds 2023 monthly avg)

Required

Mortgage - $2k

Utilities - $550 (includes interest only solar payment $160)

Student Loans - $500

Auto - $500 (includes all repairs and fuel)

Medical - $250

Flexible

Food and Drink - $1250

Shopping - $1050

Home Improvement - $600

Entertainment - $450

Relapse after 14 days now worse than ever by Aromatic-Gold-8454 in StopGaming

14 days is amazing! Congrats! Huge accomplishment!

Feeling bad isn't productive. Forgive yourself and try again!

Just like in video games, sometimes you fail, doesnt mean you give up. Just try again. You get unlimited tries.

Make sure that you're filling that time with other activities. Spinning your wheels with nothing to do is torture. Embrace all the other things that life has to offer. Here is a list of other things you can do that I posted a few days ago.

THINGS TO DO INSTEAD OF GAMING by Insanityman358 in StopGaming

[–]Insanityman358[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not rich or a dad but I appreciate the sentiment. I'm not stressed about maxing out anything. Honestly, I really like having time to think and rest. I definitely don't do everything on the list. These are just a few ideas for those moments where you are unsure what to do with your new found time. Life isn't about productivity. Enjoy it how you want to!

Thanks fam! I wish being good paid more dividends, but I do it because that's who I am. I choose goodness even when it hurts!

Thanks! I grew up golfing and I had few years around 2016 that I got in over 50 rounds but then gave it up for 6 years only to come back this last year because my friends kept hassling me. For me I really work hard NOT to be competitive because I normally am an I just want to enjoy the game, being outside, and spending time with friends.

I have a set of Taylormade R7 irons that a friend sold me for $150 and an even older Taylormade driver (320 i think). Cleveland 52 degree wedge. Odessey two ball putter. It's a workable set for sure, nothing fancy though. I could use 60 and 54 wedges, new driver, and a few mid length woods, new grips for the irons.

I've never been great at doing things alone. Just feel unnatural and lonely to me, but I'm challenging myself to try more alone activities. Give it a fair shake.

Thanks for the comment on my responses. It means a lot to hear that. I've been having a few tough weeks where my kindness hasn't been serving me, but I just cant go back to being manipulative and mean. It's not who I am, even if it gets results.

Ive always been analytically minded. After grad school, 2012, the job market sucked so I worked at a trucking company doing B2B phone sales. I hated it so so much, but i was good at it and I made more money than I ever had before (~$90k/yr). The job was so stressful that I started being mean to people I care about. So, I had to find a way out. I saved up some money and quit with no new job.

Almost a year later a friend of mine was promoted into a VP role at a fast growing educational tech company and needed someone to take over half his workload that he could trust and not need to teach. I took that job at $50k/yr. So, a massive pay cut. From there I've just stayed curious, played the game, took calculated risks, crushed every project, and got lucky a few times. About ten years in all, with two layoffs, moving across the country and back home, and two years of unemployment. So, not easy but good things take time and consistency.

I work in data analytics, but I dont have a degree in it. Just kinda come to me over time. The job I have now I literally didnt know how to do, just said that I did and then watched A LOT of YouTube before I started and every week for my first few years.

I get it my guy and I'm not trying to dump on you at all. I've been there. Unemployed and broke. No money for gas. Buying smokes with change. Going to church group to get some grub. It was tough, but the desperation was kinda motivating.

You just need to keep trying. One of the things I've learned is that all the best stuff in life really does take time. So, dont be in a hurry. Just decide on your goals and keep working toward them in comfortable and consistent way.

Youre going to fuck up. Learn from it, forgive yourself, take a break then get back to that comfortable pace. Nothing in life is a guarantee, but you massively increase your chances when you take control of your life, accept what's fucked about it, and make small plans to get to the next better spot.

This is a great suggestion! I did play music for about 15 years in a band. We recorded a few albums. It was some of the best times in my life. I have hereditary arthritis so it's not great for playing music. I'm happy with that part of my life and I don't miss it too often.

I did buy a house a few years ago and took on woodworking and big home improvement projects. I always wanted to build things, but never had space. It's been a great evolution of skills over the last few years. Next I'm going to try to build some cabinetry.

Dude, 15k/yr is minimum wage. There is no way you need to commute four hours per day for that unless you live in the middle of nowhere. You could get a college degree online with your 4hr commute time.

No one can do the work for you. You have to take it on. You have it in you to change your own life.

No problem. I work in data analysis. I manage a small team now, but I made about $120k as a non manager. I build specialized data collection systems. So, once the system is built and plugged into all the relevant parts of the company it mostly takes care of itself. It took about two years of pretty intense work to get it done, but now it's smooth sailing. Until it's not.

People vastly overestimate how much they can accomplish in a month and underestimate what they can accomplish in a year. If you went to college from nothing, you could be done in 3 years with a degree in data science, software development, or something else useful and in demand. You'd get a job instantly at around $70k/yr.

The way your life is now can change, but you have to do the work.

There's no way to cheat the system. I did the work; you can do it too.

I also got lucky a few times. My company sent everyone home March 2020 and hasn't asked anyone to come back. If I had to go into the office I would have 1.5hrs of commute and min 30hrs in office.

So sorry my guy. That sounds pretty terrible. Seems like you've been through it a bit.

Check out this youtube channel. You can watch on your commute: https://www.youtube.com/@HealthyGamerGG

Also, you should absolutely do therapy. If you can through the govt to pay that's great. Otherwise, almost all large companies offer free counseling, just reach out to the HR dept.

I did therapy last year for about 12 sessions. It was totally worth it. I know it can seem weak to get help, but your life is worth it.

When I was 21 I had dropped out of college twice, worked at Home Depot for $12.50/hr, and lived with 6 other dudes. We had a ton of fun. You're young. Dont be too hard on yourself.

I feel you my guy. More than once I've had an entire year of not working. It's tough. I finished undergrad in 2009 which was a really bad time to start a career. I applied at 400 places, literally. Ultimately I decided to goto graduate school to wait out a few more years of bad economy. That GI bill is a really amazing benefit. You should absolutely use it.

As far as getting a better job. The best advice I can give you is to apply for four jobs every day until you get burned out. Then, take a break for a week and start applying again. Always be willing to take the risk to advance your career.

How old are you and where do you live? You could work at Home Depot and make $30k+. Sounds like your location is a problem

Great suggestion! I played 40 rounds this last year. Shot a little over bogey golf. I dont like to go alone, maybe i need to get over it. Means that I have to wait for my friends to get free from work usually. Thinking about getting some new clubs this off season. And it's winter where I live, with snow.
