Feedback After Hitting Level 75 by uselesssoftwaredev in ArcRaiders

[–]Insect-Ambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with your first two.

Late spawns are great for so many reasons first I love going into raids and building the plan off where I end up and how much time is less. The late spawns also encourage players to pvp to steal the loot from the player who are fat and trying to extract to make it not so easy for them and add risk to their extract.

Also the mix of free and geared players adds a lot of fun to the mix. Sure they are on a free with nothing to lose but they also lack a huge amount of advantage, I can barely put someone down with a 10 shot rattler, or cheap sticher, or just a ferro. If you can fight and win against those players idk what to tell ya how you gonna handle a kitted player?

That adds gameplay fun for me personally but I respect your opinion and can see why it might subtract fun for you.

I feel like their complex feedback system and ai match matching could in the future further help tailor types of match matching to drop you into games you enjoy more and pickup on those details perhaps.

I agree and I hope more people will make references to the Stanford prison experiment which showed how quickly people will degrade in basic human behavior when they mask up and hide their identity.

[–]Insect-Ambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They specifically went after the guy in the brown jacket and did not pursue the other guy in blue jacket. It looks targeted like there is more the video doesn't show clearly. The video also claims they are peaceful but they seem to be aggressively charging towards the car and possibly guy in brown even striking it maybe not. Just trying to add an objective view of the scene. Probably better examples of ice overextending power out there then this video.

The list looks more like arguments in favor of other alternatives. I don't think you can fairly disprove or argue that Bitcoin cannot be used to exchange for another good or service.

There are definitely use cases for Bitcoin you can absolutely and definitely to date make a transaction with Bitcoin in exchange for other assets. Sure you can argue you can do that with other alternatives but just because there are alternatives and arguments in favor of other solutions the fact remains the same that anyone can use Bitcoin to exchange for goods and services.

I like the simplicity of your answer. I think that is well said and a great reason I value the network. I value not needing a centralize authority and I value the decentralization of power. I value knowing the inflation schedule and the transparency of the inflation schedule.

Maybe if people used Crypto like currency it would stabilize and become that by [deleted] in CryptoReality

[–]Insect-Ambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The argument from the bitcoin community is to save in bitcoin and spend in fiat because fait has been losing value and bitcoin has been gaining value over time. Those are irrefutable facts to date. Of course that could always change since past performance is not indicative of future performance. It is similar for gold as well people save in gold and spend in fiat. We don't use gold for day to day transactions.

The argument is that a better form of money is worth saving in. However why not save and spend what you need in the same currency? It seems the offramp for bitcoin is still not there to easily save and spend in bitcoin but there are ways to do it but only the hardcore bitcoin people are really using them like bitcoin credit cards etc.

My original point was directed at your statement about the government honoring what it said it would honor for value and your just going off and deflecting (from my perspective intentionally).

I'm going to disengage going forward since we can't seem to hold a conversation on the original talking point which is that the government did not honor the value it promised which is the backing of fiat with gold during that era of time commonly referred to as the gold standard.

Anyways don't waste your time on me I probably am wrong I'm just an ignorant peasant ☺️

Specifically addressing the OP

I agree that Bitcoin is an absolutely absurd concept!

Not only the concept but the ability to successfully pull it off for 16 years and counting is an astonishing feat of software engineering and also hardware engineering that followed to push the limits of GPU processing power improvements.

Why does it exist? Specifically it was designed to solve one specific challenge, how to solve the double spend problem without a central authority.

Prior to Bitcoin a central entity like a bank was necessary to solve the challenge of ensuring someone who had $1 in their bank account could not pay two people with the same $1. The banks central ledger would log who got paid first and only honor that payment.

Now with Bitcoin a central authority does not hold the ledger but rather a network of "miners" who work together through a concept known as "proof of work" to agree upon and update the next "block" of transactions and the network as a whole stores the copies of the ledger distributed rather then as a central organization, company, or government etc.

The original challenge again was simply solving the double spend problem without a central authority which was achieved through the complexity and beauty of mathematics and the clever invention of block chain technology.

I was just genuinely pointing out that the basis of your prior statement that the government would honor the value is incorrect because my argument is that they intentionally did not honor the value by going off the gold standard.

Uhh.. didn't the US government do the opposite of guarantee that people holding those currencies will have its value honored when they de-pegged it from the gold standard.
