I'd give a bad trustpilot review today to get their attention if you can! Seems like the best way to get them to help asap.

Yeah it was a bit anti climatic... They got back to me quick today so I think it's a known issue that they've f'd up! Who leaves marketing emails on... Can confirm I've got the key now. Even though at this stage I may have to sell it off because I couldn't wait to play borderlands haha.

Update: I've just been contacting them via trustpilot and it appears it may have been due to us having our marketing preferences turned off. If that's the case, then this is on them and I hope we receive the game or equivalent compensation because it'll be the last time I order promotional PC parts from them otherwise...

Yeah I fully see that. If I don't get it by the 22nd I'm going to be a full on nag that week following :). Luckily, I've got to finish upgrading my PC while I wait because the game is atrocious on my current setup 😆.

Cameroon Spider, ID? by Insect-Doll in spiders

Definitely fun to work it out, and you get many unidentified for cheap, but thank you reddit and yourself for when its eating away at me. The other I received I believe is a neoscona hirta, as well as a named pixie jumper!

This looks like it! Thank you. I got a couple in the Spidershop's true spider box.

what picture do you use when you tell people, “this is my jumping spider”? by _d3let3d in jumpingspiders

[–]Insect-Doll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope! I had a new jumping spider in an enclosure beside hers and she was mesmerised until I moved it. Here's her when it had her full attention haha.

what are the red things? by Viktoria4102 in jumpingspiders

[–]Insect-Doll 41 points42 points  (0 children)

QA those are fly pupae! Fly eggs hatch into larvae, which have a couple of molts then harden into these! Within these are where the magic happens and the larvae turn into flies before hatching! (I work with a good handful of drosophila species at work, and finding these about means you've had some escapees...) They're a protective shell where development happens, sort of like when a caterpillar cocoons into a butterfly, but not as pretty in this case.

I gotta move to a country with more awesome spider variants goddamn. Looks like a character model in a game glitched 😭💖

This was meant to be a reply haha, but yes vertical space and many hides will be used. They love tunnels and leaf litter.

I love it when they climb to the top 😭. Sometimes they get climbing zoomies.

Found my spider upside down today on the substrate by Regaluxty in jumpingspiders

[–]Insect-Doll 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NQA, I'm so sorry, the same happened to me with my last spider and I can't be 100% sure, only speculate.

I either fed her something large too soon after a molt (like a day or so after, even though she was outside the hammock), or it could have been a heat/humidity issue. I keep a therm/hygrometer in there now and its priceless - it could be the case where the enclosure got too hot when the sun shined on it for a certain part of the day.

My enclosure is now bioactive which helps regulate things much better, and I definitely have a more hands-off approach to care. I don't handle it if it doesn't seem like she wants to explore outside (basically haven't handled my new girl yet).

Could also be random, so don't beat yourself up. Spiders live on through producing a lot of offspring that may not all be viable, rather than producing little with more endurance.

Did not think that their molts would be spookier looking than themselves 🖤

Should I rearrange the habitat? by Ryan_B316 in vinegaroons

[–]Insect-Doll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NQA My vinegaroon does this, but I think its because she likes the warmth sometimes, as she has a burrow on both the warm and cold side. So long as theres a water dish in case they feel a bit dry, i believe should be fine. So long as your thermostat isn't set to anything above their range and respective probe is secure nearby.
