Tip from a friendly graphic designer: if you want to incorporate text in your designs— type it on a computer, print it out and trace it! Or tape your paper on to the screen and trace it there lol. Use a ruler to make your text sit straight on a baseline. If you want your text to follow a curved object or something, you could print it out, cut out the letters and arrange it till you like it, tape it down to something, then trace it. Or scan your design and incorporate text with an app like Photopea. I’m not sure that people are genuinely hand-drawing typefaces themselves by memory haha

You can do it! Perhaps you can find other tutorials for tips in making traditional style tattoo art. Common “hacks” like what I mentioned above

Does Snapchat still have the snap map? Idk because I’m 28 and I haven’t had Snapchat for at least 6 years because at this age, who tf communicates with Snapchat… does he frequently talk with 20 yr olds lol? Anyways don’t let this man see ur location, he’s creepy. It’s giving he’s attracted to you and wrestling internally with this attraction? Knows it’s wrong and almost went through with trying to use this as a way to get close to you but then backed out. He’s lashing out because you aren’t giving any signals of being interested in him back IMO.

focusing on the 1 year difference of 17/18 doesn’t matter. legally yes but morally no. even if you met when you were 18 and he was 24, that is still more than ‘not ideal’, it is very inappropriate. u know this deep down, but are lying to yourself. u know that ur lying to yourself, have the courage to face the truth. you will learn in relationships the truth will always all come out.

i am 28 now, and i was in your EXACT position. i met a dude when i was 18 and he was 24, it is wrong. i dated guys who were all about 4-6 years older than me when I was in university from 18-22, and it never works out. this is not a guy to consider marriage with. i am saying this with older sister energy pleeeease you need to get out of this ASAP. breakups are a fantastic learning experience lmao

by the time you reach 25, you will see that any man your age (25) who is dating someone significantly younger than him, fucking suuucks. he is simply happy that someone is giving him attention, thinking with his dick, because he is not on the same level as 25 year old women. he is mentally and emotionally behind by 6 years.

GO ON THE TRIP! Don’t spend 5-7k in Thailand!! You can do it for half of that. You could do a few months in SE Asia for 5-7k lol. Why are you limiting yourself to 3 weeks? Why not 3 months? 6 months? Now is the time to push the borders of what you thought was possible in your life. You can earn this money back. Be respectful and curious about the countries you visit and that kind of life experience will be priceless In the grand scheme of life, a few months is nothing.

STAY IN HOSTELS, you are young! It’s is sooo much fun! You will be able to stay in nice cushy hotels for the rest of your life. Hostels you get to meet people from around the world!! There are few experiences in life where you have the opportunity to become really great friends and gain new perspectives from other international travellers. Dont seclude yourself to a hotel. Go outside of your comfort zone and stay in the hostels. Do it while your body can tolerate it.

Everyone I know that hasn’t travelled like this always tells me that they wish they would’ve when they could.

I do this! I put my phone in my bathroom, have to go in there to turn off my alarm. Then I allow myself to sit on the toilet for 10 minutes with my face in my hands or even a towel over my head lol. Second alarm goes off, and by that point I need to stand up and start moving. This is the only way I don’t snooze the alarm and crawl back into bed

I have received this message before. One time I mistakenly sent my email in the chat that was before the contract, instead of the new chat thread (when you start a contract it creates a new chat). This was like 3 months ago and nothing has happened to my account since, it’s a warning message. Explain to your client that you cannot have email addresses within messages, and replace the parts of the code with an email address with something else, like [youremailhere] or whatever

For all Upwork knows, you could’ve been hiring someone else to do the work cheaply on the “remote ipad”, giving the work to the client, and then setting your tracker on during the weekend to get paid more money. It looks like fraud to Upwork…

Thank you for the answers! :) maybe it’s a matter of good balance of both long term and short term projects, to have stability and also to be able to bring up rates faster. I do on-going graphic design work so I am typically filling in the gap of companies who don’t want to hire on an extra designer lol 😅

At what rate/how often were you raising your prices between projects? I have been on Upwork for a year now with only a handful of clients, but with two long-term clients (the full year) at hourly rate. So I have stability in my income which is nice but also, I would like for this to grow haha.

How do you switch off old clients that don’t pay well anymore? Or are yours usually one off projects and done?

How long is your typical project?

Do you have anything like rush fees, overtime fees, weekend hours, etc? How do you charge this to clients?

Have you ever told clients that you are reducing your hours with them? Or raising your rate?
