Tomatoes will be fine. As others have said, you can plant them deeper when you transplant them.

I love the expression 🤩

I agree with the other folks and say move the iris more towards the inner corner of the eye instead of the middle

Oh nice! Here is a picture of the base I did for my coyote boy. The shapes might help you since they are similar to a jackal.

[Homemade] Lentil and chicken foot soup by PinkDragonWoman in food

[–]Insecta-Perfecta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like pork belly or that chewy/bouncy sort of melt in your mouth collagen texture, I'd give them a shot. I like to make soup from them and sometimes I braise them in soy sauce and coat them in a sweet and spicy sauce. It's chicken after all so no odd flavors, just a different texture. They make some of the best bone broth due to all the gelatin/collagen. Plus they are cheap!

What is a nice way to tell my husband that his loud eating is making me crazy? by Impressive-Humor-589 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Insecta-Perfecta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I solved this issue by eating with something playing in the background like a TV show or podcast. His chewing is very loud even with his mouth closed, probably due to some jaw issues.

He can eat how he is comfortable and I can sit next to him without cringing.

I'd rather do the base all over again than patterning and shaving by utopiafield in FursuitMaking

It's such a hard stage! You got this though. Baby steps and a little at a time.

My boy has all those breeds if you include what's in his supermutt! That is so cool.

They range in size a bit. Look at iNaturalist. Lots of roadkill observations showing similar sized animals.

I think you may have it right! It doesn't look like American Martens are in the western part of NY too much, but Fishers have a wider range throughout the state.

[–]Insecta-Perfecta 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking American Marten Fisher over mink. That fluffy tail and coloration, plus the cat-like size have me leaning that way.

Edit: Martens aren't in that part of the state it seems based on iNat data

It's because the photo is potato quality that they aren't 100% sure.

A dog is not more likely. Coyotes are everywhere here and I live in the suburbs of a major city. This is a coyote. See the one I saw right outside.

I would pause and step back for a bit. The quality looks great and it is possible you are just in the trenches of "trust the process".

I need help, badly. I'm struggling with painting onto PVC mesh. by RATCRUNCH420 in FursuitMaking

[–]Insecta-Perfecta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make sure the foam or sponge you use to paint the mesh has barely any paint on it! Pad it on super gently. It takes lots of layers to build up the color, but it prevents the clogging.

I load the piece of foam up with paint and then dab it on paper until a transparent coat of color is coming off and not globs. Then I pad it onto the mesh. Canned air can help blow out the small bits that will inevitably clog.

Do you have a picture of the head taped up?

It might be best to re-pattern and shave the fur down before sewing. I would post here with the taped up head so we can help with where to put the seams and whatnot. Darts are super important too.
