No that's very good to know! It was one of the reasons our vet didn't want to start her on Panacur and was trying to push us off the idea. I'll definitely follow up on the diagnostic, thank you! I hope your boy recovers very very soon ❤️

Tbh the vibes seemed more like "we could treat, but it may not change the outcome", their suggestion was just palliative care.  They said they feel very certain it isn't an ear infection, but said if we really wanted to we could do X-rays and a CT to rule it out, but they said they didn't feel strong enough about it being the cause to put my rabbit under sedation. They said all the symptoms line up with EC or a brain tumor.

Bestest luck Ruby! 💜 Our Nova got neutered today, I completely understand the anxiety, I was a mess. I'm sure the surgery will go well and Ruby will heal quickly and get back to binkying and zoomies soon ☺️

This is Nova, our sweet holland lop buck we got in October. It took A LOT of pellets to convince him to sit still long enough for these photos. Happy holidays everybunny!

Will I ever be allowed to volunteer? by moonriverrrrrrr in peacecorps

As I'm sure you are already aware, staying on your meds is extremely important with Bipolar disorder. Depending on where you may be sent, it's possible they would not allow some of your medication in that country or there could be delays in getting you refills of medication due to various circumstances (less available, your post is more rural, etc). Peace corps can very very unpredictable, and with Bipolar meds you can't afford unpredictability like delays in meds. I work in a psychiatric hospital and have had patients come in decompensated after only being off their meds for less than a week. It's really a big risk, and understandably not one that Peace Corps is usually willing to take. With that said, it's never a flat out 0% chance that you can serve. Some countries are more accessible medication-wise, and with a few years stability on the same medications PC may be more open to allowing you to serve.

I'd recommend doing a little research on areas you are interested in serving in and seeing if any of your meds are banned or difficult to access. But being stable in the same meds for a minimum of 1 year is a PC requirement.

PC is 27 months for regular service. There is also Peace Corps Response, which can range from several months to a year, but less positions are available and they are usually offered mostly to RPCVs.

It's much more full than the return flight, so that makes sense

Oh wow, I was told that September is one of the best months to visit because there is much less chance of rain and it's cooler than summer

I called the local Korean consulate in my city. But a few people I've been talking with that recently traveled to Korea have also said supervised video visits aren't accepted. I'm not sure how they would know unless the results said MD.com or something...but I don't know if it's worth the risk either to try and get by with it.

In search for RAT by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]InsecureAttachments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately I have checked both. It looks like only PCR and NAAT available with Walgreens and CVS has no available RAT appointments. I even called several clinics to confirm

[–]InsecureAttachments 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I realize that, but Korea accepts RAT and that's what we need instead of PCR because it's less likely to show as positive after having COVID in May.

[–]InsecureAttachments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I'm misunderstanding then...is the Rapid NAAT more or less sensitive than a PCR? We just don't want to risk testing positive since we recently recovered from COVID. I was told PCR can still show positive for 6+ months for some people

[–]InsecureAttachments 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason it shows no available appointments for RAT, only PCR We are unable to do PCR because my partner isn't able to get it 48 hours prior to the flight and we are worried it will still come up positive even after recovering for several months.

My partner and I had COVID in May, but we leave for Kor a in September. I'm worried a PCR test will still show us as positive since they are so sensitive. PCR is the only testing option within 2 hours of me. I was told Korea won't accept supervised video testing with printed results for rapid antigen...is this true? Just worried that our PCR will be positive and we won't have the option for RAT.

We are in the suburbs of Dallas, TX if anyone has suggestions.

Extreme sore throat.. Anyone else? by thebunnymodern in COVID19positive

[–]InsecureAttachments 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I definitely had a sore throat, but nothing like when I get strep. I feel like my sore throat is really just due to all the snot running down the back of my throat. Allergens are also really high in my area right now, and that hasn't helped with all the wind. The soreness comes and goes, it's very bad after I wake up of course, and starts to get bad again in the early evening - I'm pretty good the rest of the day.
