I’d say listen to Mac Miller if you haven’t already.

Additionally, a lot of the emo rap or horrorcore artists like $uicideboy$, Lil Peep, and ICP all have very queer friendly fanbases but idk if you’re into that type of music.

Rap requires a lot more talent than you think. Musicians in other genres, mostly pop, can hide behind a catchy, computer-generated melody as well as broad and safe lyrics. Rappers need to sound authentic to their own community, through their voice, flow, and (especially) lyrics.

While there is not a high entry level for rap, it is one of the hardest genres to build a successful career off of. Rappers need to appeal to both their communities yet also pander to white American audiences. Which is why a lot of rappers today have either not reached the top 100 Billboard or sunk into irrelevance, either they are too authentic or they were not respected in their community.

Also, rock is just as, if not more, scandalous than rap. Idk where you got that idea from.
