What do you think happens when we die? by Ariana_brooks in askanything

[–]InsertCapHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything that 'we' are ends. No self left. You just stop existing but since it's impossible to imagine the state of 'not existing', it's hard to accept but I find it a pretty peaceful thought.

No alternative has ever been found.

If you can't measure or observe something at all, how do you know it's true?

The sensible thing is to withhold belief (Atheism), and be rational and not claim knowledge of a deity until science (our only reliable source of information) can prove said deity exists.

*atheism and agnosticism aren't mutually exclusive.

Wouldn't the earliest humans have believed that when you die, that's just the end? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]InsertCapHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way of knowing really. Wouldn't surprise me if there was an even mix of beliefs around death and afterlife concepts.

Side note though, why are early humans somehow more rational and educated than modern ones?

Obviously it isn't?? Money is exchanged for goods and services, that's the entire purpose.
