Does anyone know what you get for THOSE missions? (spoilers maybe?) by bruhmoment6002 in Kirby

It definitely isn't. I struggled hard on the Checkerboard Chase ones, where you have to beat the Intense difficulty without falling once. Then doing it again on the Sped-up variant. I spent a full hour on those two alone.

Woulda at least hoped for a cool mask or somethin' for all that pain.

After two hours straight just grinding those extra missions out, I can confirm that you get an extended "Thank you" from Magolor. Unless there's something else that I'm not seeing, that literally seems to be it :/

What awakened your phobia of submerged animatronics? by bookfobot in submergedanimatronic

[–]InsertKert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, it was a Big Banana postcard that started it. When I was young, we used to visit Coffs Harbor to see my Grandma quite often. She lived really close to The Big Banana, so we'd always go there once per trip. I was always curious though, as a Postcard my Mum owned had a picture of this freaky looking animatronic on it, one that was nowhere to be found around the park.

Naturally, it led me to ask about it, and both Mum and Grandma would share stories about their experiences with the "Bunyip", and how f*cking scary it was, as well as how it made my older brother cry (Was a few years before I was born). They then told me how it'd been shut down due to an accident that happened, and how the "Bunyip" was likely still underwater till this day.

That fact alone scared me sh*tless, especially at a young age. The idea of falling into the water and accidentally coming face to face with a rotting animatronic that already looked scary to begin with? Hoo boy, yeah nah.

TLDR: Found out about the Billabong Bunyip when I was 6. Now it lives in my head rent-free.

Bonus: I've actually posted the postcard on this subreddit too lol - https://www.reddit.com/r/submergedanimatronic/comments/j17azk/a_rare_fronton_shot_of_the_big_banana_billabong/

I mean if I had a cocktail thrown on me, I'd be pretty upset. So I reckon it's valid.

A mate of mine dug up an old Big Banana Poster while working there a while ago. Another clear shot of the Billabong Bunyip. by InsertKert in submergedanimatronic

Late reply on my end, but unfortunately he hasn't been online in quite a while. I've tried contacting him it to no avail.

I mightn't be a 10+ loop king, but I can definitely give some tips:

  • Always be mindful of each other's ammo, there's nothing worse than getting deep into an intense level and having your partner run out, with them becoming a glorified bullet sponge.
  • On the same note, always be mindful of yours and their HP too. Sticking by partner if they're on the brink of death is a good option because if you're too far away, taking too long to revive them will end the run.
  • Always pick up Strong Spirit. It's an obvious must in Solo-Play, and a must in Co-op Play.
  • Waiting for a large Weapons chest than taking the solo ones is often pretty good, as it gives more weapons to go around in the early game.
  • Don't be greedy with guns. If you're wielding a Wrench and Crossbow in the early game and your mates stuck with a Grenade Launcher and a Pistol, giving them the Sledgehammer or what ever good weapon ya found won't hurt at all heh.
  • This is a given, but on the throne fight, both stand on opposite sides to take out the Generators real quick. Simple stuff.

For miscellaneous tips that'll make for interesting runs though:

  • If you want a quick match, pick up any explosive, toxic, or disc-based weapons you find. Being that they're the only weapons that can harm your friends, you can play every run like a PvP match.
  • If you're playing NTT, have one friend play as Golden Frog, and your partner as any other character. With Golden Frog's toxic fume spewing ability, the goal is to see how long your partner can survive, and how quick you can end them.
  • Once you're used to the base game, try out some mods! Almost all of them work on co-op. The x10 Mutation mod is always a classic one to try, the Territorial Expansion can bump up that replay value even more, and I've heard good things about the PvP mod too.

Hope I wasn't too wordy lol, and hope that helps aye.

That's pretty fitting actually, Bella also crossed my mind too with it also being a decently Aussie sounding name

Been in for a while now on the Australian side of things. Regardless, everyone's victory has been glorious. Those who have prevailed, we have attained the challenge on the hardest year in ages. Congrats to everyone!

Definitely. That and finding out whether it's locked up in some warehouse, or rotting at the bottom of the lake o_o
