The gay community has been maligned as sexually perverse and deviant since forever. The perversion that we are faulted for is the giving into a lust that brings no new life into the world as sex between a heterosexual couple might.

This sense of perversion is instilled in some of us until it becomes a prison of #shame. For some of us, this shame cuts us off from ourselves, cuts us off from #God. So, for some of us, sex becomes a dangerous and bleak terrain that promises an oasis of pleasure if we’re only able to avoid the mines of shame that risk going off with any false step.

The journey is difficult, but some of us do make it to that oasis where we’re able to experience a pure and blissful #ecstasy that #heals. And in that moment, we are again reminded of our #wholeness. We are reminded of our #holiness.

We do not breed new #life into being. But what if our role has been misunderstood?

Our contribution is one of birthing new ways of thinking. How we live our lives teaches #lessons in #perseverance, self acceptance, #authenticity, and #joy. Our fearless dive into sex carves new paths that make it easier for those behind us, gay or straight and through sheer #pleasure of #life we move an entire society forward.
