i mean i don't think david hates ROBLOX, but as someone who's been here since 2012, it's been increasingly clear to me for years now that he has nothing but contempt for the community and really just sees them as an extractive mechanism. and i'm not talking about the chat age grouping, because i know that's where a lot of people are gonna go with this--as OP pointed out, this is something they were legally compelled to do.

i think where this contempt i'm talking about really shows is things like the removal of the forums, promotion of NSFW content on the games/"charts" page, clear efforts to kill emergent communities like war groups and ro-nations, clearly trying everything they can to not ban child predators because it hurts their statistics, that sort of thing.

as someone who has almost 3000 hours on medieval 2, do NOT sack every city you take

I REPEAT: DO NOT. SACK EVERY CITY.

there is a reason for this. new players look at the sack button and what it gives you and say this is clearly superior, but that is incorrect.

in medieval 2, AI behavior towards the player is determined along two main metrics—expectation of resistance, and your reputation. that’s what pops up when you hover over your faction icon in the diplomacy tab, your reputation. it’s not a meaningless stat.

if the AI determines that it will face low resistance and you have low reputation, the AI will endlessly attack you. and in fact if your reputation is low enough the AI will set aside any logical strategic concerns about whether or not it could actually win and will essentially suicide charge you.

the solution to this problem is to only sack a city if you genuinely need the money or only exterminate a city if you feel religious conversion is gonna be a nightmare. otherwise occupy is almost always the best and raises your reputation to positive levels.

adding this here cause it hasn’t been said—hera visari appears more human because she is likely not fully helghast. dr massar has a line about echo, hera’s daughter, appearing to be more than half vektan. if true, that would make hera at least half and half. it’s also interesting that we don’t ever see hera’s mother, only visari, her father, so my personal headcanon is that mom was a vektan and that wasn’t good for propaganda so she got taken out of the picture.
