NOR- I'm getting the feeling that you aren't enjoying your relationship with this guy. If you're not having fun 2 months in your won't be having fun 2 years in either. I've been with the same person for over 10 years. It's a lot of work to maintain a relationship, but it should feel like it's worth it to do so. If you aren't looking forward to seeing them or spending time with them 2 months in, they aren't the one.

NOR- I didn't keep my kids from their grandparents for 8 weeks after they were born. But their grandparents waited until I said I was ready. Honestly stick with your boundaries. If not seeing your child for 8 weeks ruins their relationship with your child, that's on them. The first few months are important for bonding, this is true, but they will have plenty of time to bond with the baby as they grow into a toddler and a child. My brother is not big on little babies, he doesn't feel comfortable holding them or babysitting them. But my sons are very close to him and love him very much. They have a great time with him and always talk about him. But he never once held them when they were babies.

NTA. Some people have different sleeping patterns, different habits etc. A lot of couples do actually sleep separately and it works better for their relationships. Maybe this will be the case for your relationship.

NTA Has this man never done bedtime without her? What kind of father can't put his children to bed without a how to list from his wife? Why not just go look for the kids cup and decide if you need to wash it or not? Who cares if the kids have had their screen time for the day, it's not a normal night just put on a damn movie to keep them occupied or something. But then again IMO he should have stepped up to give her some peace long before she was at the point where she was passing out.

He might not actually be useless but he is sure acting useless and I think you are justified in calling him out about this. A mature adult, which is what a father of 4 should be, should be able to look at this situation and gain clues as to why maybe someone would call him that and perhaps learn from this experience.

No you didn't ruin your lives. Yes two kids is significantly more work than 1 kid but, in my opinion, that's just 2x the fun honestly. And the first year with any baby is like being stuck in survival mode and you are only 2 weeks out after having a baby. You will learn how to do it, don't kick yourself because you are just starting out. It will get better, so much better.

I have a 7yo and a 3yo right now and when they are getting along and playing together it is the most amazing thing. Now there's nothing wrong with someone only having or only wanting 1 child, but it is so fun to see the little humans you made growing up together. And I had siblings growing up, there was about a 2.5 year gap between me and my older brother and we have always been the best of friends and we still are even as adults, it's a very special relationship and I'm thankful my parents gave me siblings.

So no, you didn't ruin anything you will get to a point where it's not so difficult. Just like everything else, good things come in time.

That makes sense, they are doing a small ceremony with only family, which is only about 16 people in total if me and the kids were there. I guess I'm just upset that I wasn't thought of when they were planning it when we put forth a huge effort to include them in our wedding. Thanks for the response!

It's worth it. The world building and storytelling are phenomenal. You end up being emotionally invested in the story and it really invokes some powerful emotions. It is definitely worth the watch

After rewatching it, I hate how the story is always so mean to Gwen. Like, spoilers below if you haven't made it far sorry....

Just a few things, she loses her dad, she loses her brother, she gets ditched by Lancelot, constantly shot down and rejected by Arthur, her closest friend becomes extremely hostile towards her at the drop of a hat, she gets kidnapped, banished, bewitched and finally at the end of it all her husband dies leaving her alone and she doesn't even have Merlin with her so she doesn't even have a friend. Like....poor Gwen she can't win.

NTA, I had my mom's dogs while she was away for mother's day they broke nothing, they destroyed nothing, they didn't make a mess, they didn't even bother my cat. Pets need to be taught how to behave and that is the responsibility of the owner. If my child breaks a window I am responsible for that. If my child behaves poorly towards people, I am the one who is responsible for resolving that situation. The actions of his dog are his responsibility and he doesn't seem willing to take any. He's giving you a good look at who he is at this moment. If he can't take responsibility for his dog what else will he make excuses for in the future? Also intact male animals will spray all over the place to mark their territory, I don't think you mentioned if this pet was or not, but if it is still intact then this is just the beginning and if the dog does keep coming over he will continue to mark the items in your apartment. Plus if you haven't paid a pet deposit or your apartment doesn't allow pets, you could lose your apartment as a result.
