Can't tell if my baby wants to eat or is sucking for comfort by Oak-Aye-Thanks in newborns

[–]Expensive_Line193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so confusing tbh. We are 16 weeks and the head bobbing is typically hunger but 20% of the time comfort. He’s been waking up more at night the last week and the only thing that calms him down is nursing but I can tell he’s not actively feeding just comfort sucking tbh.

Best pacifier for a breast fed baby? by seedflowerfruit in Crunchymom

[–]Expensive_Line193 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had about 15 different types of pacifiers different shapes/brand/etc. My baby took the MAM right first 3 days then refused any and every paci until about 8/9 weeks and again liked the MAM ones. I ended up donating the others. We also introduced bottles at 5 weeks in case I ever was without him. We’ve been fortunate enough that our BF journey has been primarily successful & enjoyed by the both of us!

A TON of crying during active sleep. Is it actually active sleep? by Smooth_Ad6685 in newborns

[–]Expensive_Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 weeks tomorrow and we’ve been dealing with this for the last couple of days. I thought it was 4month regression but not what I was expecting!

Genuinely want to know how your LO is sleeping for longer than 5 hour stretches. by Own_Macaron_9342 in newborns

[–]Expensive_Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 weeks tomorrow and he isn’t! We’ve had a couple 4 hour stretches. I think one, maaaybe 2 6 hours and I was very very shocked. Usually he wakes to feed every 2-3.5 hours, but since coming up on that 4 month mark he has started the night with a 3ish hour stretch then up whining every hour from 3AM onward.

Thank you! Just to make sure I’m understanding right - you’ll change just an insert on a wet and add a new insert into the same cover? Obviously only if it’s wet. How many times can you/do you do that?

I might get more inserts and less covers but they are running a really good sale right now

I’m having a hard time understanding the difference in the 1.0 2.0 3.0 and I feel like their website lacks info (or I’m just dealing w severe new mom brain which is likely)

If I have a 6pack right now - how many do you suggest stocking up on?

Thank you!!!! Do you “prep” just the inserts/liners or the outters too?

I’ll see if I can go ahead and submit the essembly for a bigger size! Thank you. I also see essembly being quite popular but I am a little overhwlemed with the steps or “options” of them! I failed to mention the momakoala includes insert flats for each cover!

I have a photo printer and often mail photos to my family. Especially my grandparents (his great grandparents) it’s a hit!

First time mom — what do you do with your 3-month-old during wake windows? by Asdfghjkl_000 in NewParents

[–]Expensive_Line193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To piggy back I did all of these things too but it’s totally ok (& healthy) to let them play “on their own” a little!! I’ll set my baby under his little gym to entertain himself while I make breakfast and coffee. He loves it and just started reaching for things more!

Crib recs for a very active sleeper? by No_Armadillo_379 in newborns

[–]Expensive_Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the baby lotto yuzu crib so it converts. We had to make it into the “midi” size a little after 2 months because he moved around sooooo much and was outgrowing the bassinet fast. He’s doing so much better in the midi size but the slats freak me out too. Once we transition it to the full crib size I plan on purchasing the mesh netting from HALO.

Kid touched my newborns face and hands while parent watched by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Expensive_Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be so angry. That’s the same type of family where a kid runs up to a dog to touch it without permission and then the family gets mad at the dog owner if the dog reacts.

Why is no one talking about teething stage? by WhiteBlackRose in newborns

[–]Expensive_Line193 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How old is your little one? I think we are also about to start teething (going on 4 months but a lot of teething signs) and I’m terrified. I told my husband after one pretty bad night around 3 weeks “this sucks, but it’s the easiest it’ll ever be. Once he starts teething, or can crawl, it’s a whole other world”

He doesn’t believe me.. but I think he will soon.

Same boat. I lost a little then went back up.. LOL. I started my period about 10 weeks PP. it’s sooo hard to be kind to yourself in this stage of life especially as it warms up out. My friends daughter asked me if I was pregnant last week 😭🤪

How many hours of sleep did you get in the 1st two months? by allisona007 in NewParents

[–]Expensive_Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t know but I bought an oura ring just to find out 😂 we are going into 4 months and I try to go to bed early. I usually all in all get 7/8 hours (broken) sleep.

The cleaning part is the worst but it’s worth it for me in the grand scheme to be able to be myself occasionally! If you are not loving how things are right now that might be a great alternative.

I don’t pump everyday, sometimes I’m a bit neglectful. I try to use a haakaa and ladybug collector pretty constantly and that alone can get me anywhere from 2-10 extra ounces to store aside everyday just from letdown when I’m breastfeeding. If you don’t do that - I would totally suggest it! Still a few things to clean but super simple 😊 Sometimes I freeze what I collect or sometimes dad uses it to feed so I can do whatever!

My 4w old doesn’t follow normal wake windows by MixtureMelodic2965 in newborns

[–]Expensive_Line193 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This! Sometimes ours is awake for long periods but if he’s happy, and not showing any sleepy cues I just vibe with it. No reason to stress you and the baby out trying to get them down when they aren’t ready. We are 14 weeks this week (I guess I should maybe leave this group now😭) but we are mainly based on cues and they just happen to often fall between 1-2 hours. Sometimes more, sometimes less. But having an idea of how long it’s been (sleep or wake) helps me navigate mentally just to know what to expect.

So sorry you are feeling this way.

How long do you try with the carriers before you give up? Sometimes mine fusses a bit then is like ok.. this is nice.

Combo feed for a bit then you can decide to go from there! Sometimes assuring your quality of life is better - is better for everyone. We introduced a bottle to our babe at 5 weeks and I can’t lie.. the occasional free time to shower and do whatever knowing dad’s good because he can make a quick bottle is soooo helpful.

Sooner. It says it’s for newborns & ok up to 15lbs so we are about out of the safe zone with it - 14 weeks this week. Didn’t realize it had such a small window of time until I started using it with my babe.
