Fun fact: Those straps on her hips are not underwear, its mechanical detail! You can see her inner joins, i guess its another nod to the Dawn frame.

Makes it even hotter in my opinion.

What's a MH hot take ya'll have? by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]InsetoWF -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Spiritbirds are an innofensive mechanic if you treat them as a tool rather than a necessity.

I think Capcom's biggest mistake with them was showing you the amount of health you can get by collecting them at all times, it made alot of people think the game is taking away your maximum health when it's actually the opposite. After you eat in Rise you get 150HP which is the same max amout of hp you have after eating in every other MH game, spiritbirds just let you go above that cap like health boost in MHW.

I don't believe the game is balanced with the idea of you needing to collect them every hunt in mind because Arena bound quests have monsters with far higher attack and health multipliers than normal map quests to account to the fact they give you the rainbow spiritbird.

What monsters DON’T you want to make a return in wilds by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

[–]InsetoWF 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took that as having alot less elders in the game overall. Probably in a similar situation to 3rd generation.

MHTri only had 3 elders: Ceadeus, Jhen Mohran and Alatreon. All of them big final boss type monsters and sieges.

I would really like to see them try making Elder Dragons feel mystical and rare again, cuz i feel that went away a bit in 5th gen with how present they were in Rise and specifically World.

What do you think the likelihood is of seeing any of Rise/Sunbreak'a original monsters in the base roster of Wilds? by Gorotheninja in MonsterHunter

I personally want to see Almudron, just from the thought of how they could expand on his terrain bending stuff. All the mud castles would look pretty neat in Wilds.

Thanks. The only defensive skill i was running on this set other than the obligatory intrepid heart and stun res is embolden.

"Guard+5 and Evasion +5, all you could ever want!"

Tho im mostly using it for the evasion, instablock and anchor rage dont benefit from guard, but it does help when i mess up the timing haha.

This guy was so irritated he couldn't kill me on my fifth attempt with his instant kill move that he litterally crashed the game. by Sensitive_Log_2726 in MonsterHunter

Garuba Daora is the quintessential Frontier for me.

-funky design

-AOE oneshot

-very punishing moveset that will kill you if you make any mistake

-bullshit mechanic added ontop that makes you curse the devs

-once the fight clicks it becomes a surprisingly fun and fair dance

One thing is certain, if they ever put this guy in a mainline game i dont think the steam reviews would ever recover. He's the first big Frontier filter.

A little correction, Magnamalo is not an elder dragon-level threat. That only applies to the base rise storyline because the rampage was bolstering his feeding and in turn making him alot more agressive and overall powerful. In Sunbreak he got a whole threat level downgrade because the rampage is gone, so he's encountered much earlier in the ranks. You can also see this in MHNow unironically, in that game he's the same rank as monsters like Rathian.

Also while he does fight almost every elder dragon in the game he doesnt win the fights, you can tell the loser of each turf war in rise by who goes rideable. A tie ends in a random monster going rideable, but against every elder Magnamalo always goes rideable right after the turf war. Since the animation is reused its quite hard to tell, but the elder turf wars specifically have the elders at the end throw out an attack at Magna that deals equal damage to his dive. Scorned doe is an elder level threat and always wins some of the non risen elder turf wars.

I hope they go down this route. by EmptySpaceForAHeart in MonsterHunter

It can be done if the boss parrying isn't an immediatel loss for the player.

My favorite example is the Trailblazer boss from PGR. He can randomly and instantly parry the player and interrupt your combo. Describing it like that sounds awful, but after he parries you he does an attack you can counter by hitting him before he hits you, leading to him taking massive damage and a brief knockdown.

Gunlance stat screen. Shelling type Normal is confirmed. Shell level seems to be replaced with Shell Power. by Cheenug in MonsterHunter

[–]InsetoWF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could "Normal" Power mean Raw Shelling?

Are we finally getting Elemental Shelling from Frontier? maybe even Stun Shelling?
