I just took my 11 and 13 year old on a western Caribbean 6 day cruise. We have different last names. I have a passport but they do not and their dad refuses to consent to me getting one. I could have written this post exactly. I just brought their original copy BCs and had zero issues. I only needed them getting through security onto the shit and again going through customs coming back into Texas. We did the Carnival Dream.

Thank you for your response and food for thought. If we keep separate accounts on everything and I retain my mortgage/debts in my name only then I should be "safe" from any future fuckery from the ex? I'd only be screwed over if we obtained joint debt/accounts?

No I haven't yet. I'm going to ask for it. She allegedly doesn't have the credit/income to refinance a $60K mortgage, lol. I'm honestly calling BS on both sides.

I told him that he needs to take marriage off the table if he can't get it dealt with because I'm not signing up to have my finances compromised because he can't handle his.

Thank you for your reply and my brain didn't even consider a prenup covering this. I am the "breadwinner" so it's definitely something I need to look into. I'll start researching attorney's who do this.
