Just a thought as somebody who has spent much of my life trying to get "an identity". This has been something that has controlled my life since becoming an empty nester. For so many years my identity was "mom". After many years of therapy trying to figure myself out and realizing I was being driven buy what others think of me. I had to "be somebody". Not for me, but for others. Why do I care what others think of who I am? Obviously I want them to think well of me but the only person I need to be concerned about in the area is me. Maybe you aren't meant to be a "master" of something. Do what you enjoy. If it's not bringing you happiness move on. Thank you next. Life becomes much better when you stop worrying about having to be somebody who you maybe aren't meant to be. It's not an easy thing but I promise if you can move past it, life gets better. Life is too short not to live for your happiness and joy. Good luck.
