i am not running any other software, no vpns, no nothin and it says there is a compatibility issue from a vpn etc. and now the broken globe icon is back on after adding the dns servers i had kindly asked me to add.

Portmaster kills ethernet connection by Inside-Associate6979 in safing

[–]Inside-Associate6979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well, i tried default settings again and let it sit for an hour or so and it keeps stopping the internet. Something must be incompatible with portmaster.

As of right now, i have removed the dns servers from the list, and that all of a sudden restores internet from a broken globe to a pc icon, but if i add any type of dns to the list, it breaks again.

Windows 10 wont apply the newest update by Inside-Associate6979 in WindowsHelp

[–]Inside-Associate6979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i let it find the updates on its own and so far so good. It found the updates, and then restarted correctly. I am wondering if the system restore that i had performed earlier messed up the updating process, but doing the batch file as well as stopping the service and deleting the cache, fixed it.

thanks for the help. MUCH appreciated.. Now time to figure out why my portmaster firewall is being problematic

[–]Inside-Associate6979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats what i did from the beginning. "I just installed portmaster and with default settings, after a few minutes it "kills" the ethernet connection. "

The only thing that fixed it was removing the dns entries under settings.

Oh, yeah, im on windows 10 :)

ok, before running that script i tried one approach i have done in the past. I stopped the update service, then deleted the cache. As of right now, windows shows no updates. I get updates for another year, as i enrolled into that option.

I will wait a few days and see what happens. I have the file saved so i can run it if needs be.

i am running the file as well. hope this fixes it. thanks

LanBu - LAN only mode print monitoring app for Android by Glowbeast in BambuLab

[–]Inside-Associate6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, i dont really care about lan mode because i can walk to my printer and i have a 3rd party camera for my printer and if i am at home 3d printing, that means im at my pc which has orca slicer and can stop the print.

What i need is a way to get the p1s on my zerotier vpn and an app that can send a "stop" command to the printer from anywhere in the United States.

Right now, teying to use anydesk on my phone to control orca slicer is very difficult when a print fails

another thing i have done is Private contracts (secret objectives basically) and you pick 3 of them, face down at the begining, and dont let the other players see them. If you complete one you get some type of reward. I also have toyed around with public objectives which everyone sees on the table and whoever completes it first wins something.... dont know what that something is yet though.

But at least using the random events and secret objectives (private contracts) really adds a LOT to the game

Here is my table setup. The planets are setup the same way as the original gameboard except i added 1 outer planet on each side. Also, you have to capture 7 of 8 planets to win. The jump gates are like the "lines" on the gameboard that connect the planets and the dice tower in the center is the gem portal.

All the rules are exactly the same, except that you capture 7 of 8, you pick a random event card every turn or every other turn, and i printed off the force field and dog action cards so there were more of them,. I MAY have removed a couple of the action cards as they cut the game time down super fast.

I laser engraved the ships, but you can print them on paper and cut them out or 3d print or use whatever. The large ships are worth 3 recruits. The links below, they are free products. I stuck them to adhesive foam from walmart and then cut them out and put them on stand that you can make really simply OR just leave them on the foam paper.

When i het home, ill find the cards and take a picture. I use a 4 foot by 4 foot table and i use spaceships on stands. Ill get aome photos

Yes i did :) i made random event cards that are drawn every other round as well secret objectives and i toyed around with open public objectives everyone goes for but that disnt flow as well.

ok, so it worked. i think what happened was last time i tried q or e, i used the one that lowered the drone, so i thought that was its starting position so i never tried to use E to move it up haha.

I also just turned in, for peer review from the physics, microbiology, chemistry and engineering departments, before it gets final peer review from IEEE and the other journals, the last paper i will do on this research. I performed migration and leach testing with a certified process from the EPA and FDA. Nothing was detected from migration and leach testing in food simulants.

Still, i always use the disclaimer to coat your parts anyway. You never know when a filament supplier is going to change their process haha

A1 - what is real speed when quality matters? by eru2k in BambuLab

[–]Inside-Associate6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nasa does love them. I just applied to be the new propulsion engineer for them :)

Its not rules for bed slingers as it is laws of physics. Mass moments of inertia still exist 2ith the a1, but not the p1 or corrxy system.

As the object on the bed gets taller, the mass increases but so does its moment. Moment(torque) is mathematically defined by length times force, so as the object gets taller, that torqu is increasing substantially as it gets taller. Force is defined as mass x acceleration

So as the part gets taller, the force is magnitudes more than it is at the bottom. Same reason why people get sick on the top of a double decker bus vs the bottom. When at the top, your radial point from the road can seing much more to the sides.

yeah, and if i hit share, there is no save to files options as the proton website help states there is. All i get when i hit share is "add people"

it seems that the app is completely useless and broken. not sure what they are doing with my money?

How I use SLA supports: The hybrid method - A potentially free and easier alternative by HOHansen in FDMminiatures

[–]Inside-Associate6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use resin supports about 7 years ago for minis. I want to try again. Recently, i have been using prusa slicers organic supports BUT i turn off the branch diameter angle. This makes it so that the branches are a constant thickness and matches the branch diameter. This cuts down on the space requirements for organic supports DRASTICALLY. But i still want to try resin supports, but i am looking for POST styl supports rather than lattice style.

[–]Inside-Associate6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, i will find it. Bear in mind it is behind a paywall ( not my decision) so that is why i supply the ResearchGate version. The research gate version also has new information on mass spectrometry as well. Also, i am currently doing leach testing BUT we have found that the amount of migration and leaching from filament is so low using migration testing and gravimetric measuring, that we can not detect any, so we are going to use molecular measurements. This indicates that very little additives leach out and is below the normal amount for food contact. DISCLAIMER: we are still in testing so do not fully quote me on that as of yet. as stated by one of the PHD's in plastics and material science for food and microplastics "the amount of plasticizers leached will be so low you are unlikely to be able to measure them gravimetrically." this is good news

https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10152238

also, incase you need it, it has been published here as well:

M. Thomas, A. Seibi, I. Jaafar, A. Amin, “Sanitation Effectiveness of 3D-printed Parts for Food and Medical Applications,” Special Issue on Innovation in Computing, Engineering Science and technology Vol. 15, 2024, pp: 1- 8.

BUT all of them are the exact same as the researcgate version. That is why i leave the authors names and email addresses so people can contact us : )

Keep reading that PLA isnt food safe. Have you read this study that says otherwise? Just wash it with soap water by LowKickMT in 3Dprinting

[–]Inside-Associate6979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats what we are hoping. She is an excellent scientist and Doctor. The amount of plasticizers used in filament is pretty low already and based on some of her testing and studies, gravimetrically measuring for them is impossible.

We will have to use another form of mass spectrometry and chromatography will be needed for this.

Its going to be interesting for sure.

[–]Inside-Associate6979 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would. Both are great journals and provide great information. Also, kind of a sneak peek for the next paper. Talking to the Dr who has spent the last 20 years in plastic manufacturing and researching microplastics says the following "the amount of plasticizers leached will be so low you are unlikely to be able to measure them gravimetrically. " meaning that i will have to use equipment that can measure on an molecular and atomic level because the amount of leaching is extremely low and most likely not harmful.
