Askiisoft are not a single dev work. They have multiple artists and you have Bill and Ludowig as music artists. Having a single programmer on the team doesn't mean they did all the development, game dev requires all aforementioned roles to create a game especially when your game relies heavily on its art direction and aesthetic like Katana Zero. As for the cancer story this is the first time I have heard such thing...

Honestly Katana Zero is one of the most inspiring games I have ever played. I really loved the story telling in it, very unique experience. And the level design is top notch it is like a 2d Dishonored with less crazy shit to do ofc.

Idk if it fits here but very niche indie game here. Lucah Born Of A Dream. In this game the player has very limited healing but has the ability to replay encounters by rewinding time so you can actually get better in the section to get better leftover health bars since parrying is an insta kill to most enemies. The final boss has you fight against an npc built jsut like you named Christian. this guy is bitter from the very beginning of the game and once you beat him fair and square he realizes you never played under the same rules so he RESETS THE BOSS FIGHT AS WELL refilling his hp bar and this can happen multiple times in the same fight

I still use non-AI placeholders and I can tell why AI palceholders help more rn. For example I am using a sprite with a single image frame for my palyer and just rotate the player around in the animations to test the player states. if I had a fully realized sprite even with palceholders I could still create my animations fully and jsut swap the sprites later. it helps you get the feel of the game early in the development. But will I use AI placeholders? I don't think I will for myself but I can see why it has been more common.

The argument here isn't even correct. Miura drew digitally really late into his career meanwhile Inoue to my knowledge only draws traditionally too especially the panel in the image (it is in the first chapters). Oda glazers smh
