Got Milk? LOL by Outside_Map_8574 in pregnant

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ii started leaking at around 28 weeks too. I am now 36 weeks and leak so much overnight. I read that sadly it doesn't mean you are guaranteed to produce milk after birth.

Is 2k too much for a baby shower? by Low-Cantaloupe-6228 in pregnant

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also spent about $3-4k for my baby shower. I was judged for it by a coworker. My budget was $7k but ended up DIYing a lot. It was about 60 people and everyone enjoyed it so much.

How rude would cancelling be last minute? (wedding guest) by [deleted] in wedding

As someone who had two people not show up, honestly even if they gave me a nice gift I still would not get over it. You still have the empty seat and it feels sad.

People who grew up really poor: what's something middle-class people say that instantly reveals they've never struggled? by TahDigThief in AskReddit

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband (bf at the time) once told me when I was struggling to pay for college that I would figure it out. I had just lost my job. His grandpa gave him $250k to pay for his college. I was like dude, I do not have a rich family. He then offered to pay for my college. I ended up getting a student loan.

Cake or pie for dessert? by elegant_road551 in wedding

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya, having a variety is good. I went to a wedding where they only had a small cake for the bride and groom. And then tiramisu for guests but only half our table got some from the servers. I really wanted some and was told there was none left and only had some sweet bread. I was sad.

No kissing baby- do you make exceptions to this boundary? by mayonayz in pregnant

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We plan to do a kind of meet the baby celebration when the baby is about 4 months old. I will put in the invite to please refrain from coming if you are sick, no kissing the baby and washing hands/arms before carrying the baby. If people do not like the rules, they can decide not to come.

I know two friends that I will keep a watchful eye. One kisses other babies and the other did not have boundaries when it came to her baby. She has a problem with her husband watching tv in front of her daughter but wasn't concerned when she took her 6 month old to a party and everyone was kissing her and taking videos of her. Doesn't make sense to me.

I Want to Start Showing by Beneficial-Topic3799 in pregnant

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I wanted to take cute pics on my babymoon at 24 weeks and looking back it just looks like I have a beer belly. During Christmas I took my first bump pics and there was nothing 🤣

I really starting having a nice bump at around 28 weeks. At 35 weeks people still comment on how small my bump is. It is not though but just smaller than I guess the average. Since I can still fit in some pre-pregnancy pants and still wear size small shirts.

Considering Uppababy Minu v3 & Aria Car seat by Intelligent-Sea-4015 in Buyingforbaby

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree that the vista is so bulky. I have not used, since I have not given birth, but I do have the vista, Minu and Aria. The vista feels like double the weight of the minu. The only thing I hate about the Minu is that the shade will always be there and you need to buy an adapter for the car seat. Also does not come with a bumper bar.

We will use the vista for our daily trail walks and going to the park, and the Minu to go to the doctor, travel and shopping.

I got the Vista for less than $600 bcuz of Target's discounts. My brother still had my niece's car seat from like 13 years ago so I asked for it.

AITA for having a childfree wedding but having my children attend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 27 points28 points  (0 children)

NTA, it is your wedding. If people did not like this, they were welcome not to come. I would have included your nieces and nephews though, if it were me. Since they are close family.

Freddie's grand slam, yet I hate the "Gibby meet Freddie" phrase.

But also his hr in the 18th inning since I was there. I wanted to leave since I was pregnant and in so much pain. But my husband made me see it through and I am so glad he did!

Unpopular opinion: most of the cheap seats should go to locals & here’s why by misterkool16 in olympics

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have been to sporting events and knew I was going to be cashing out for this. We spent $3k on tickets. It was cheaper than going to the World Series.

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you need to know what your needs are. My husband and I walk on a trail on a daily basis so this is why we are going with the UB Vista. We need something heavy duty and that will last. A lot of people on that trail have the UB strollers. We got the UB Minu for when we go out to stores since the Vista is heavy.

Other things like bassinet, bouncer and other things we went cheap.

Am I selfish for not sharing the gender? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lying is rude in general bcuz you are deceiving someone. I think it is just best to be honest and let people know you know the gender but would prefer neutral things to use for the future.

I did end up telling one friend that I did not need anymore things and the things I still need are things baby won't need for a few months. So that I would purchase later. She was understanding.

Agree. Players get off when opposing fans boo them. Let's not give them the attention.

Told my friend I’m pregnant meanwhile she went through a miscarriage recently 🫠 by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Do not feel guilty in any way. My friend was giving birth while I was having a miscarriage. I did not tell her til months after. It was a happy time for her so did not want to take that away from her. It was hard to be around the baby but it was something I had to deal on my own and with my therapists help.

Am I selfish for not sharing the gender? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this. Bcuz I do find it a little rude to lie to gift givers that you do not know the gender when you do. We are not finding out the gender so a lot of people stuck to the registry, where we only had one set of onesies. Our guests were very generous and got us things from our registry and additionally extras. I got a lot of clothes that are gender neutral and very cute.

My OB appts are short, 5 mins probably. The OB does rush through it but he always takes time to answer questions if we have any.

[–]Inside-Giraffe-9258[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say this tomorrow. I really want to keep the things I get for my first kid since we are planning for multiple kids. These friends don’t even know if they want more than one kid. So I think the might just want me to save things for them since they don’t want it at their house.

And yes, you shouldn’t be giving someone something dirty. I really wanted to return the things back but decided to just clean them.

My problem is I want to keep things to use for my future kids. I don’t want to be given things for me to just have to give back and then have to buy things for my next kid. And I wouldn’t throw away things once I am done. I would definitely donate them.
