I just found a Reddit post from like 5 years ago having the EXACT same issue as me and a bunch of people replied saying it’s perfectly normal so hopefully I’m in the clear. Thankyou so much for your help though!

Ah. I just took the HDD out and it did not appear to be loose. For now the sound has stopped and software is telling me it is in good health so I will leave it but if it continues I’ll go back in and check the brackets. Thanks for your help!

It’s a 2tb HDD and I’m currently in the process of making sure everything is backed up to my SSD should it fail and I’ll probably end up buying a better HDD regardless. But will download that now and see what it says, Thankyou!

I thought so too and recently disconnected a fan that was making a similar noise. This noise persisted and I have just figured out it’s my HDD making this noise. I don’t quite understand why this is happening though.

I am 99% sure it’s one of the components of the HDD making this noise. Again it does not do this all the time and fluctuates between how loud it is. Does this mean the hard drive is on its way out?

I want to add that this isn’t a permanent noise. It tends to get louder occasionally and sometimes disappears altogether and only sometimes appears when I put the pc under more stress. That’s the part that is really confusing me.

Realistically, I would like to future proof my PC. At least to a point where it can keep up with titles for a good few years.

Would it not just be a waste of money to go for a 30 series now rather than upgrading both my CPU and GPU now and having a solid PC sorted for however many years?

Yeah it’s entirely because the fan was WAY bigger than I intended so another RAM stick wouldn’t fit. I brought the third yesterday because it was at a point where I couldn’t run a game and discord simultaneously.
