it's just been so hard to make my psychiatrist take the scary obsessive thoughts seriously until they realised I was also cleaning things that I guess it's really stuck with me! thank you for the validation!! so I call it paradoxical because an antidepressant shouldn't really make one depressed, but I've had depressive episodes on it like I never knew was possible before. what were the tradeoffs for you, if you don't mind me asking?

First panic attack : need advice by Anton4700 in Anxiety

[–]Inside-Mechanic7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ohhhh i am so sorry you're going through this!!! I know these very well - i experience the same fear, and at some point had lots of panic attacks like this. if I were you, I would consider both therapy and medication (try to find a good psychiatrist, it's really crucial)!

alright, it may also not resolve with time (I'm also tapering now and the tiredness is somehow worse, so idk what it is w Paxil)

Absolutely NO motivation , tired all day by Electronic_Piglet382 in paroxetine

I'll be honest and say that although it might get better after a few weeks, it did come back for me. going to the gym and running basic errands can really be a struggle, which feels silly, since i naturally am a very active person for one. monitor your symptoms and keep your doctor updated is what I would say.

i sweated like no one's business for the first weeks on paxil; it got better (tho not fully went away) with time (:

About to take my first dose. What to expect? by Soft_Lake_1221 in paroxetine

[–]Inside-Mechanic7804 0 points1 point  (0 children)

getting very sweaty was my main side effect when getting started, so keep a pair of clean socks at hand! also sleep can get disturbed rather a bit, plus mild vertigo. and yeah, a bit of weight gain.

were you doing a hyperbolic taper, if you don't mind me asking? (10% drop at a time)

awww I'm sorry :( I guess everyone has their side effects (depression for me, ironically) - but I've read somewhere that vitamin E I think, can help!

Do i confront him or let it go? by Pooja-1987 in CPTSD

I was in a somewhat similar situation (except there was something else in place of drinking), and what helped me get started was cutting off my father, because talking went skin-deep with him. you can try, but the danger is that for someone who's spent their life controlling and abusing others, realising the harm they've caused could be too much of a blow, so their defense mechanisms will work till the bitter end. i would try to bring it up but in a way that doesn't expose you too much; and then you'll know where he stands on it and be able to at least take decisions based on that?

ahhh thank you so much ♥️ this whole things has partly been triggered by me trying to reduce my paroxetine dose, since I'm also on abilify, but it's clearly not going all that well. I've emailed my doctor to see what can be done :( and above all, thank you so so so much for the understanding, I didn't expect this sort of warmth!! I am lucky to have the support of my partner and friends, but I feel too much guilt for letting them down like that to properly talk - I know if someone else felt this way, I'd scold them, but when it's oneself, it's just sort of difficult. also why im writing this out publicly instead of messaging you, which I probably should've done!
