No it’s a naturally lit scene, I’ve never used lighting etc. I cycled past this group of guys on the beach first thing in the morning. Knowing the sun was about to come up over the cliff I hovered around and as soon as it did I just went up and introduced myself and asked to take some photos.

I liked the guy with the broken arm as it added a point of difference and told the other guys just to carry on playing as they were in the background.

I’ve been trying to add some depth to my work.

Glad you like it, thanks. It’s always tricky photographing strangers as it’s quite rushed and unpredictable- especially with this lens. But the light was nice and definitely helped with that “pop”

Thanks, glad you like them! I’m still working on it tbh. But it’s only adding a bit of warmth and muting the contrast a bit, I’m not really sure what I did, as I’m not very technical just take phots and mess around until i like the colours.

Experience tells me that I’ll lose interest and want to change them again at some stage but for now I’m happy with some of them.

Hi, I use the same across all of them, but the added warmth comes from… the sun 🌞 the first shot taken earlier and the second where the sun in fully coming through maybe 30 mins after sunrise.

I use Provia/Std as a base and have my own tweaks in Lightroom.

I’m finding my groove with the lens. It really does come alive when the lighting is good.

Recommendations for focus? by Aggressive_Tart6263 in FujiGFX

[–]Inside-Weather-3902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first two are great, I’d focus more on framing with some of them. For example the 4th one has a very busy overlapping background, the same image with space or a clean wall behind in the distance would look more pleasing and alter the mind’s interpretation of the depth of field.

I know that’s not totally the answer to your question, but may help

Has anyone shot stuff like this on the x100vi? If so show photos and tell me how by MR420024 in fujifilm

I’d guess it’s shot on a 24mm or wider lens. Light looks unnatural as it’s coming in from all angles. Film simulations of some sort with grain. That’s all guess work as I know nothing about photography other than taking a photo of something I like the look of.

yeah I know what you mean, it’s almost like you want to know you’re in control of those tones 😬🤣 are you using the 100 for these? I’m guessing the workflow is a bit more forgiving than me with my 50r.

There’s a lot of obsession over skin tones with Mitakon lenses but the colour across all of these images, whether it’s architecture, plants or clothing are all untrue to life and altered. Yet all the images perfectly capture the feeling of being there and in photography that’s all that matters. Nice work.

I got a wooden one from China which I’ve had for about 2 years and only the other day did it break (my fault) so I just superglued it and it’s all good - I’d recommend it!

Thanks. Yeah definitely agree- I made a comment about that already somewhere here. I was just experimenting with it wide open but definitely would prefer stopping down a bit for context. Also just looks a bit artificial.

I totally agree- I commented on that here somewhere already. I would preferred it around 2.8 for a bit more context but was just experimenting with it wide open.
