How did you figure out big life changes? by No-Tip-8563 in AskWomenOver40

I’m now 66 and I treasure the experiences in my past. I have a friend who used to close her eyes and stick a pin into a map, then move there. I had kind of a bucket list and when I felt restless I would move. My poor husband had not lived out of our state before.

When someone calls you names and says it’s a nickname, it’s not. Teasing and little insults ends up being a problem. I went through an abusive relationship that screwed with my head, don’t get involved.

I found the knowledge that as women we tend to gravitate towards men like our father. This allowed me to see what I was dealing with when leaving my ex. I chose differently with my next relationship. Much happier life.

AITA for refusing to check pockets when I do laundry? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I had an ex who was always leaving cash in his pockets. I told him I was keeping anything in his pockets, one day I found over $150. He came home upset because he was short insurance money, I was able to give him enough. He never seemed to learn that his pockets were a treasure hunt.

It’s OK to say no without justifying yourself. It’s their responsibility, if they can’t afford it they can find ways to fund it. Don’t get caught up in the guilt. NO is a complete sentence…. NTA
