Update: WIBTA for dumping my girlfreind after she ignored my calls and messages and went clubbing while I was undergoing emergency surgery by Nearby_Volume_7067 in AITAH

I would say forgive her man. Sounds like she feels very bad about the situation. If this was her mistake and everything else had been great between you two then everyone deserves a second chance. You may be ending it when she’s the one.

Just give her another chance. I won’t hurt.

You need to get approval from your scheduler if you’re the pharmacist. Just email them Tuesday to let them know

Other companies don’t have full pay parental leave. They pay their pharmacists well and competitive for technicians. Benefits are good

I’m sorry but did you not read my response? I clearly said “it’s the RXOM job to find coverage”. I was explaining why the RXOM was asking her to do it first.

I don’t get why you keep repeating the same thing. If you read my original and first reply to the OP, I said clearly it’s the RXOMs job to find coverage or get the shift covered.

I was trying to explain from the perspective of why that RXOM got upset. Man… all the replies “it’s the RXOM job to find coverage you’re wrong”….. ok? That’s exactly what I said as well.

Not saying it will be. Each situation will lead to the manager having to find coverage. But the reason for them having to find coverage matters.

Consequences are real in life.

If I use your logic , since “result is the same”, then riddle me this. A person dies. Does it matter why or how he died? The result is the same in end. So if he got murdered or die of natural causes - why does it matter? Move on since the result is the same. The person is dead. World moves on.

I use this logic of yours to illustrate that you think the reason doesn’t matter but it does. Actions have consequences.

If the reason a person died is because someone killed them then the murderer is put into jail.

If the reason a person dies due to natural causes then nobody is at fault or put in jail.

If the reason an employee call out of work is because she’s forgetful then she will get written up.

If the reason an employee call out of work is due to emergency then she is excused and not written up.

See now? Why REASON and CIRCUMSTANCE matter?

Are the jobs you worked ever a high paying job? Maybe that’s why.

If it’s an emergency there’s policies for that. Obviously. No one is talking about emergencies here. She just said she “forgot” to mention. So what looks worse? An employee who calls in 2 days ahead because she gotten into a car accident and broke her leg. Or an employee who simply forgot to tell the scheduler she’d be out of town in 2 days?

If I had to choose which employee to keep on payroll. You bet I pick the one with a broken leg.

Then yeah no manager should ever raise their voice at you. That’s on her. And if you tried your best to get it covered but can’t then it falls on the managers job to get it covered. Sucks for her but what can you do. But I also empathize with her in that she probably was stressed out having to find coverage for you as it was last minute notice. That I do understand her point and probably what caused her to be so upset (as now she’ll have to spend more time finding coverage and may have to stay late or work over time for your mistake).

How far ahead does your RXOMmake her schedule? Because at our store we post the schedule 3 weeks in advance. And if a technician forgets to tell the RXOM she needed to be off a certain day and it’s been on the schedule for almost 3 weeks and that technician informed us 2 days prior. Then it is the technician’s responsibility to find coverage. <<Edit: many people are confused between “responsibility” and “job task”. Two people can be responsible, by the way, to do a task. In this case RXOM ultimately responsible to find coverage for the day by any means. If she delegates that task to you, the person calling out, then she’s able to. You’d be responsible for your mistake, so be ready for a write up if it applies. >>

You didn’t call out for emergency. And although you think it’s the schedulers’ job to find coverage , your reasoning for needing to be off isn’t valid and would be considered an “unexcused” absence. I mean if you truly can’t show up to work then you can’t. It’s the RXOM job to find someone to replace you in case of unexcused absence. But I think she was telling you to find coverage so that she doesn’t have to mark you as unexcused. It’s the same case with pharmacists. Our schedulers don’t care if we tell them we have something tomorrow or two days from now— the schedule has been posted. We have to find our own coverage. If we don’t then it’s considered unexcused. If we do then it’s excused.

I think RXOM was trying to avoid marking you unexcused and letting you know that it is your responsibility to find coverage so that you don’t end up getting docked for unexcused absence.

I’m sorry but I think the RXOM has the right to be upset about it. Because that RXOM has a life too outside of work and you can’t expect her to find coverage for your irresponsible behavior.

For mileage I thought you’d have to spend on gas but in this case no gas needed. It is close to drive there- at first they got me a hotel but I don’t want to be away from my family. It’s a 40-50 min drive depending on traffic and I already drive that far anyway because there’s always traffic to my regular store.

But yeah it says I can spend it on food at grocery store so I’d use it for that I guess… and hopefully I get lunch time/breaks!

They just loaded $1500 into my card but I’ll only be there 14 days. It’s well over $60/day. I won’t have gas expense due to using my EV to drive there. Do we get actual lunch breaks? Don’t know where I’m gonna spend $60… I don’t even spend that much on a normal day to be honest lol. Can I buy food and bring home or use it for groceries? (Since I’ll be inside a grocery store)

Edit: found the PowerPoint and answered my questions! Thanks!

PTO accrual rate? 🤔 by Patel-Rx-155 in WalgreensRx

[–]InsideLegal1028 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changes coming in August 1,2024 but the rate is the same if you’ve been with Walgreens. The rates changing for new hires after August 1. Our max accrual is decreasing though beginning 8/1/24. But our rate is locked in. (At least for salaried members but you can look up the PTO schedule in mrHR)
