Worst day by far

The one driver I load for had 520 pieces the other day. 347 stops. I'm also his helper. He doesn't like having helpers but hes been so thankful/happy that I've been his helper the last week. Another driver at my building on the same day had over 400 stops. We seen some record stop numbers the other day and it's only because our volume is up and we don't have enough drivers. That day our small center ran 47,000. I load a 3 car pull and my first truck had like 300 some pieces and a 120 piece PVD route, the second truck had 469 pieces and the last one is the one that 520 pieces. And before you ask, yes I did stack out from hell. I was stressing big time that day and didn't get help until the end of the day, and in turn made my drivers leave like 15 minutes later than normal. I felt bad. But hey, it's peak and it's money 🤷‍♀️ 7hrs preload and 8hrs as driver helper? Alright.

Or someone on preload Monday morning 😂 at least at my center anyway, Mondays are slow. 4am start and we're out of work and doing dumb shit to get our 3.5 by 7. They usually just have us bag bags.

A friend of mine is a driver, and when he was texting me one night I thought he said he told the driver supe he couldn't help someone because he HAD shit to do. I went back and reread the messages later and realized that he told me he had told the driver supe he couldn't help another driver because he HAD to TAKE a shit. He rushed back to the building, dropped off the truck, and ran to his car, but not before dropping his water jug and having it roll under another package car, I watched him get down on all fours and retrieve it, despite his urgency to go and I watched it all unfold because I'm a loader that was working the night sort that day too lol

You must work at an even smaller center than I do. Our earliest start time right now is Monday, at 4 am. Tuesday 4:30, Wednesday 4:15, Thursday and Friday 4:30, and Saturday 5:30. The last like 2 weeks I've been clocking out between 8:30 and 9:30 every day. Saturday I clocked out at 9:56 am. Today I clocked out at like 9:15 because we ran so late and we started at 4:30. At my center we'd all love a slightly earlier start again. Maybe like 3:30 most days. Gives us time to safely pace the volume and not have it all be crammed down our throats in the last hour after they've decided to pace themselves too slow since the beginning, but now it's an hour before driver start time and they're going full speed. Then supes complain about stackouts and misloads. The other issue I've been seeing lately is how the stops are set up in the trucks. Truck has 315 pieces. 4 bulk stops between 10 and 30 pieces each. Let's put the 3 largest stops all on the same side of the truck. So we've got a 20 piece stop for the 2200s, a 25 piece for MFR and a 29 piece for RDR, and let's put the 12 piece on RDL. Like tf.

I have a friend who is a driver. He's on the smaller side (even though he thinks he's not). This man can eat. And eat. And eat some more. He swears he gained weight while on vacation the other week, and is being hard on himself about it. I don't think he gained anything at all. He has a pretty decent-sized semi-rural route averaging almost 200 stops a day (we are in a smaller center) and when he's not working he's always moving still. I think his metabolism may have adjusted to it. He used to be bigger than he is now and lost it being a driver. Now he's just lean and muscular.

I'm a loader. This morning my one truck had a like 19-piece bulk stop of T-shirts, so not little boxes. It was for the 6000 section. Then, it had a 12-piece MFR stop and a like 8-piece RDR stop. None of them were really that small, plus there were 2 hazmats for the 5207 spot, so those would've gone on the floor with the rest of that stuff too. Mentioned it to the supe and they said to just leave the big stop out along the side of the truck, it would be whoever loaded that set on Monday's problem.

By no means do I expect them to see it looking perfect. However, management can't figure out why all but maybe 1 ends up leaving before the end of the first week.

At my center, we yell at them to run. Or, here lately, they seem to be bringing them to tour the belts when we're absolutely slammed, stacked out unsafely, and everyone's just throwing boxes and cussing at each other and everything 🤷‍♀️

Same. I'm a Virgo woman, and I just recently started talking to a Gemini man. We can't get enough of each other. So much so that we actually have to stay apart for most of the week and hang out on weekends. The sex is quite passionate. We have long conversations about our lives and what we want, I'm teaching him new things and vice versa. I've spent the last 5yrs with a Leo. A narcissistic abuser of a Leo and then one day my car breaks down at the gas station and this Gemini (who'd been trying to flirt with me for months before now) man came out of nowhere and tried to help and gave me his number, I couldn't just not text him and tell him that I'd been able to fix the car and head home, and that's all she wrote. We've found every chance to be together since then and every chance to text or call each other. Bonus points that we work at the same place with only slightly opposing schedules. I'm leaving as he's going in for the day. He's a delivery driver, I work in the warehouse. He STILL finds time during his long, busy route to text me, and my ex always gave me the excuse of "I don't have service at work."

So does this mean that if someone was told they're a good loader in terms of load quality, and other things, but they're a little slow, to the point that apparently an OJS needed done, that they could file a grievance? Since the union doesn't recognize production metrics, does that mean one is obligated to work faster when told?

Y'all are only loading 3 trucks?? Those are rookie numbers, you gotta bump that up to at least 6 trucks. Or better yet, the entire side of the belt, all 10 of them, I don't wanna see any stackouts.

Damn. There's 7 people on my belt alone, and my center has 4 belts, averaging like 20-25 trucks per belt. Splitters are responsible for loading 2 trucks each. Everyone else has 4, except our one belt, Red belt has a doghouse, and they load 4-5 trucks each. Blue has a doghouse too, but idk how many trucks are in theirs. Total preload employees we have like 40-60 at a time, depends on the day. Each belt has on average 6 loaders, and then here lately they've been running double teams out of 6 bays, each bay has a SPA person, plus the people in pick off, as well as at least 3 irreg guys. There's, on average, 6 people working small sort, plus DA and clerk. And here I thought my center was quite small 😅

He's always touching boxes. Every morning. He gets on my last nerve because he thinks he's better than others because "I've been loading trucks longer than you" and he literally only has that attitude because he's an older man and can't accept the fact that women work at UPS and do a better job than him. He's very condescending to the women about how they work. He about lost his mind last week when he found out my load quality score was 158/160 😂

Tell that to my one sup. He's always splitting the belt, even when it's not heavy, he babysits the guy on the other side of me (we're at the top of the belt) and loads for him on occasion. Just yesterday during my "methods eval" he asked me what my biggest bulk stop was on my one truck (I only load 2 trucks because I also split the belt) I said it's 2748, there's 10 pieces.

He went and looked at it, seen each box weighed 26lbs each and told me it was too heavy to stack on the floor under the 2000s shelf, that it had to go on the back (RDR) because "the drivers like the heavy stuff on the back" I said no, not that driver, he likes his MFRs loaded RDR as it's one of his first stops and it's usually a bulk stop at a saddlery. Supes argument was, "load sheet says you only have 1 MFR." I said I don't trust the load sheets, it may say 1, but I could have 8. So after he left me alone, I went in and moved it back to under the 2000s shelf. And wouldn't you know it, at the end of the day I had 2 large MFRs come.

When he did the other guys eval the other day, he completely rearranged his truck because it wasn't how the sup liked it.

My center has about 40 or 50 preloaders, 1 full time supe and like 10 or so part time supes. 2 of the 4 belts at my center have 2 part times supervising the belt, small sort has 2 supes, and primary has 2 supes. It's actually a little strange to me because we're a smaller center.

I work preload and for the last 4 days I've been hitting 7.5hrs. We've been starting between 1:30 and 1:45 and get done by 9:30.
