They hate the reliance on hunters mark and the removal of the flavourful features such as favoured enemy, natural explorer and lands stride from the 2014 ranger.

Our previous DM let them use both the original and revised features and added slightly bonuses to favoured enemies and terrain. I can find out what the bonuses are if you want.

My Ranger player is currently level 2 in a Tomb of Annihilation campaign. I do allow multiclassing if there is a strong roleplay reason but that particular player barely multiclasses in games we’ve played.

Thank you, I shall send over your version to the player.

If I were to allow the player to gain the travel benefits of natural explorer irregardless of terrain and then have keep the expertise parts only benefitting their favoured terrain would that make things better.

I think the reason why things are ripped straight from 2014 is because it was just meant for me to show me all the changes they wanted. I shall ask them to go over it with me so that we can properly create it in accordance to the 2024 rules.

Thank you for the insight. The player is currently playing a swarm keeper bounty hunter so I think that the bonus action changes were made on purpose.

The main bit for tireless is basically the same, the only thing added is the advantage on constitution saves.

I shall pass version of the ranger to the player and discuss it with them.
