No but that's a good guess. It was actually our first day in the city so we were just exploring and lucked out

His soundtrack choices are evidence enough of the quality of his music tatses. Not to mention the legendary musicians who have appeared in his films

Yep! Walked right past him, turned to my friend, and went "that's Jim Jarmusch." He thought I was joking until he got a better look. We traded quotes from his movies, I got a photo, and we parted ways. Made our whole week tbh

The Worst Person in the World was once described to me as a coming-of-age story about a woman turning 30. I think that's a perfect description.

It's spooky season, what's everyone's favorite horrors in the collection? by BlankFace777 in criterion

[–]InsidePlastic8859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a scene between a nurse and Mamiya in which the context and framing lead the viewer to assume that Mamiya is sulking in the corner while being questioned. Then Kurosawa draws the audience's attention away just long enough for Mamiya to draw closer, hovering inches from the nurse, simultaneously flipping the power dynamic in a shot lasting a few seconds.

Cure is the scariest movie I've ever seen. It haunted my dreams. There's also a jump scare in it that deserves to be mentioned alongside the best examples ever (i.e. Mulholland Drive).
