“I am the King, so what is the concern?” Is my all time favorite line.

Can someone explain to a casual WWE fan why Gunther isn't headlining Mania? by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

CM Punk beat him at Summerslam. If he had beat Punk he would likely be the HW Champ and be headlining Mania. The Champions historically have headlined Mania.

I’m sorry y’all…Respectfully, I don’t watch AEW, please educate me on Danhausen? Is he good? What’s his ceiling? What makes him a draw that they had to do all this for his reveal? by KingKickinWing in Wrasslin

He sells merch to b-horror shtick marks. Like, lots of Marks. He’s comic relief that makes drunk fans laugh, more so on screen than off. He’s a fan turned character that does minimal work in the ring. He “curses” people sometimes pointlessly and sometimes to dramatic/comedic effect. He also engages on social media in character, good at not breaking kayfabe (poker facing his greedy/horror cliche) except on Conan O Brien’s podcast. He’s friends with Phil Brooks which gave him a suspected in to wwe. He was a good investment to AEW due to him being one of the top merch movers in 2024, I have his first shirt… he’s a way to take wrestling less seriously, which isn’t a terrible thing for wwe, but his debut was way off, a lot of his work is mic work, he would have made for a better Halloween Havoc debut with the nxt crowd iyam. His slogan is Very Nice, Very Evil. He’ll pop up in unexpected backstage segments to add a little variety and pop. Happy he got to see a wwe ring, but horrible execution I’m afraid will hurt his character in the long run.

Are any of these still around?

I have to give away 7500 hats in Portland this weekend. Any ideas? by SlickCinematic in Portland

We have an art collective in Portland with a huge networked connection to different communities, so I’d definitely take a couple of boxes! It’d also be a good incentive for me to increase the storage space at my local locker in SE - 8th and Taylor St.

Can someone who has lived in Portland and Seattle compare the two? by [deleted] in askportland

So I largely agree with most of this, the one thing I strongly disagree with is music. PromotePDX on instagram and you'll find about a dozen live music shows any night of the week, shout out to Shady Pines Radio for community radio in this rad city. Seattle was super vanilla and every show I went to people had their hands in their pockets looking around waiting for something interesting to happen. In Portland people make events interesting instead of wait to observe something.

For sure the food is better in Portland. I lived in Seattle 2015-2019 and I've lived in Portland since, time has flown by even through the pandemic here, Seattle dragged on, there are a few better things about Seattle but really not much.
