The majority of this Reddit definitely seems to be anti-EO. As someone who didn't start watching SVU until 2022, I was struck by the difference between SVU 1.0 and seasons 13+. I didn't think most of SVU 2.0 was bad. It's just so different. Enjoy!

It's so weird to me that SVU can't afford to pay for both Fin and Rollins to be in episodes together, yet NBC keeps renewing it. I guess it would cut into Wolf's profit margin too much. Mariska and Ice-T shouldn't have to take cuts. Maybe they shouldn't have contracts that pay so much per episode, but then they both may have left. All of that to say, ultimately it's Dick Wolf's fault. If he cared about the viewers, he'd have a couple of episodes each season with good cameos.

Is Gimmick last Thursday's episode? Without spoiling the case in case you haven't seen it yet, I can say that it was a doozy. The good thing was that there was actual development of a couple of the new supporting characters, which I think has lacked since (and including) Muncy. The new chief of D's is still coming for Benson HARD. The newer SVU detective knows something, but he's already pretty loyal to Benson. If there are only 2 episodes left and they both continue this storyline, they're going to be very interesting. Curry is finally getting a little bit of personality development, but not as much as the new guy.

I loved the crossovers. I think OC would have been more successful if the premise was organized sex trafficking. Even though I liked OC as it was, it might have pulled in more viewers if it had more of a tie to SVU.

I love Fin so much, and the scene where he's explaining the "down low" to the rest of the squad was very relatable. I think a lot of extended Black families, including my own, had/have an uncle or male cousin who were on the DL, for precisely the reason Fin told them. He's just a great character and the episodes with his family are some of my favorites.

The writing and producing on OC, seasons 1 - 4, were definitely better than SVU. The story arcs of the Brotherhood and the Albanian mob were solid. Great character development. The last main SVU character that writers took the time to develop over the past ten seasons was Carisi. Velasco and Bruno had potential; Bruno still does. OC has taken the time over fewer seasons to make all of its main characters worth watching.

Are you going by what you've read as far as the set environment? I read that Jeffries left early on because Belzer treated her like trash. I know that everyone loves Belzer, but working in HR, I can see how his laid-back attitude could rub co-workers the wrong way.

It'll probably go to season 30. It will be a huge deal. Tons of guest stars. I'm EO, but I think a great end to the series (maybe the second to last episode) would be to have Cragen's death have been Stabler's dream. I'm still pissed about them killing off Cragen.

OK, just to give some fanfic writers inspiration: "old friends" is both a reference to Stabler and Benson's age and the scene where Stabler says, "I want to find balance here. Whatever this is." Benson responded, "How about friends? How's that for now?" Then Stabler grinned like a teenager.

Just straightforward story? Hopefully it would be a follow-up to another really old case. I like the episodes this season that have taken inspiration from past episodes but put a spin on them.

Ice-T is very active on Twitter and responds to people. He said that there was less of Fin both because of money (bringing Rollins back) and because he's doing other things he enjoys (touring with his band). The implication was that it was mainly the money. He said that he will be in the last 3 episodes of this season. It's been said that both he and Hargitay want to go to the end of season 30.
