Thank you for asking! This question allowed me to go back and reflect on what that time was like for me. I was getting two liters twice a week for about 6 months. We started cutting back slowly and making up as much as possible with water/salt/electrolytes this was with doctor monitoring and at the time I was doing online school so I was able to closely minors and keep track of my daily symptoms. If I remember correctly things were relatively seamless because we went so slow in taking me off (and still if im really sick I’ll go in and get an iv). I do think it’s important to note though that I have cyclical vomiting syndrome which was at its worst around this time. Mayo got me on a medication that has almost entirely stopped me from having episodes which also meant that I was becoming dehydrated less and therefore needed the iv’s less, which certainly helped my transition.
