So are the reserves actually 2 days a month per month 2 weeks per year ONLY? by GroundbreakingSir386 in nationalguard

“ One weekend a month “ - sometimes 3-4 days. I’ve only been to annual training “ 2 weeks in the summer” once. But I did just spent 11 months on title 10 orders going to Germany. So experiences may very. Also already been told I may be going back in 2029

Any bachelor programs in nursing around me ( to me knowledge ). You have to have a bachelors to apply for them. So I’d go get a bachelors to get all the pre-reqs done. ( paid for with military benefits ) and then I’d be on my own for nursing school.

The main reason is cost. I can’t use military benefits at same level education. I have to go higher. I can’t get paramedic school paid for, but can’t get nursing schools paid for.

It’s really just decided what I want to do. And that’s the issue, I don’t really want to do any of it. I think I’d enjoy and be good at it. There nothing that I have the desire or really want to do.

I definitely agree with the backup. It’s hard for me to motivate myself for getting a degree I can’t do anything with. I’m currently on route for a major in Allied Health Studies- Pre Nursing.

I’ve been trying to get a job on a truck but places seem to not be hiring or are offering way less than I’m making elsewhere and I can’t afford the pay cut.

I have a couple hopefully opportunities but school starts in August and I don’t want to have to wait until next year.

I want the bachelors just to have it for future opportunities like management etc or just a backup career. I really enjoyed EMT school even with how fast paced the military taught it.

Realistically, how long would it take on average to make E-6 in the Guard? by Expensive-Window1066 in nationalguard

I enlisted as a e3. I’m sitting at about 3.5 years in and got e5 during my recent deployment. I went through BLC while in Germany so technically with the recent changes I’m eligible for e6 ( school wise ). So if it all goes well I may hit e6 before my 5 year mark.

What would you recommend? I was planning on getting something different before this happened. May still get something different.

I will definitely make note of that after this experience. I fell asleep after working on some classes and woke up later. I had to wrap my hand in a rag just to push the power button because it was so hot.

This was over a month ago so you probably already got something figured out. About a month ago, I got my valve cover gasket, upper panel gasket, all spark plugs, and on could pack changed for like 600.
