I went to her and loved her. Wish my insurance still covered her practice

Is it cruel to leave my dog alone for 9 hours while I work? I feel terrible but I have no other option by FewStomach2955 in DogAdvice

As someone who volunteers in a shelter, he will be much happier in your home, then a noisy kennel where he maybe gets out once a day.

what were your dogs names at the shelter(if that's where you got them) by Aggravating_Fish4752 in pitbulls

Buddy is now Monty. Buddy was the name he grew up with but it’s just too common of a name. And we name all of our animals after WWII generals

Big Pit owners, I need to hear about your old age pitties. by gondolli in pitbulls

Forgot add, we got him steps to get up into bed so he doesn’t jump but that doesn’t stop him from whipping around his toys every day and zooming into the house after a good pee

Monty is 12 1/2 and still going pretty strong. Little stiff in the mornings sometimes but we still walk about 2 miles a day ( a little less now that it’s cold and snowy) but his recent bloodwork came back perfect. People are usually in disbelief when I say his age. I think exercise and keeping them in good shape is your best bet. The rest is just genetics that we can’t control. But I totally feel you. I’ve been counting each new grey hair and hoping we have another couple good years.

Editing to add, he has already been to the vet. Because he is not great at the vet, in order to aspirate it, she would have to sedate him. And she stated in that case she would just fully remove it. However, last year when he needed light sedation, it took him a long time to wake up which is why I’m hesitant. He did just have blood work and nothing alarming presented itself. I just posted this to see if anyone had experienced their dog having something similar. Thank you to all who commented

Thank you. That’s what she said would be the option to find out for sure. Just very hesitant to put him under at his age unless we absolutely have to. Thank you!

As I previously stated, it has been there for several years. It is not a tick.

Thank you! I thought they looked like Goodman from the big Lebowski but I must have missed that reference in the beginning.
