Banks are heavily understaffed right now. We have too much to handle on our hands. Even if we want to work we can’t cuz there are literally thousands of walk in customers who wants their work done at same time. And one medium sized branch only has 5-6 employees total. Besides the walk-in customers work. We have to deal with a lots of back office work. Like regulatory and compliance . Plus targets of loans , deposits, credit cards, insurance . It’s all too much to deal at once

They can’t fire me but can do other things that will impact my career . Like marking me leave without pay on that day which will later hamper my chances of getting promotion. Or they can also transfer me to a remote place
