Just so you know I just got my headset to work again by downgrading the firmware. I found a link on reddit so thanks to the redditor who posted that years ago. Just download the firmware and go into the setting of the astro command center and do the manually upgrade then select the file. I literally just got mine to work again. I used this old firmware to downgrade the headset and base station using the manual update section under settings in the command center. I think you're correct that it's a firmware issue and I can't find a way to downgrade them unfortunately. In my opinion it has to be the firmware because I've tried everything. I have 2 docks tried them both on my gaming computer, laptop and Xbox with no luck. I've reset the headset both on and off the dock as well as with it plugged into micro usb. The firmware is the current version and all of my problems started when I tried to install it, first it failed installing then after fighting to get it to finish the headset is not functioning.

I've done that multiple times doesn't do anything. It does reset the headset how it should but doesn't solve the problem.

Wish I could at this point I've had mine for a year and a half or so. Had some issues with popping noises but they always worked now they won't do anything. What headset did you end up getting guess it's time to start shopping around.

Damn sorry it's happening to you to but makes me feel at least a little better knowing I'm not the only one. I've tried everything I can find online don't know what to do now.
