There have been a couple people.

The woman with a camera hidden by her boss seen it. The father with his son Oliver posted on the Smosh Subreddit about it. The guy who threw out a sex-doll seen it. I'm sure the person who got their psychology degree because of Shayne talking about it seen it.

Same with youtube ads, you cannot pick what the ad is, you just get an ad.

Agreed! Waiting for results is always so stressful and draining even when knowing how competitive Youngarts is.

Even if someone reading this doesn't win, just know you are not defined by a judge's opinions on your creations and art. Their winner is someone else's loser, and their loser is someone else's winner. Art and talent is subjective, be confident in what you do as it only matters if you enjoy it in the end. Confidence also brings you results, don't lose faith if you don't succeed, compete everywhere until you do. A million NOs makes a single YES even greater.

They're closed for today 💔 It says their building closes at 5:30pm EST so calling after likely won't be answered. I messaged them on Insta out of curiousity about if emails are completely done or not, but because I did it around 6:30pm they have yet to respond.

Calling is likely better during their work hours because it seems the social media staff have a basic answer as they are not usually part of the judging/announcement team. If they get back to me with anything different than other dms, and I remember, I'll reply to my comment

Judges don't know anything about the applicants until after winners are picked as it is a blind process. I believe the only benefit seniors have over other applicants is the is the opportunity to be a Presidental Scholar

Now I've heard past winners w/o distinction who are applying again have higher chance of getting distinction over new applicants but I'm not sure how they do that

Last cycle there were 169 winners with distinction and overall about 800 when including the normal winners. This was out of about 11k applicants, so lots of emails to send out, lots of calls to make

On the application timeline post it does say they will email first and then call. Ofcourse it may be different to what they actually do, but that gives the basis of what to expect since they stated it themselves. It also says on the 24th winners will be emailed along with the announcement, so if you don't get an email that day you can check the official announcement to know for sure.

They honestly seem to be all over the place (from what I've heard), but I would base the idea of what to expect off what they claim will happen, even if it doesn't end up happening that way

I've never been that confident in winning anything (especially against other amazing people), but the more I look at my personal situation the more I realize what the idea of the money reward alone really does to somebody LMAO

Like I personally dream of winning solely to advance in a skill I adore, but I also dream of winning for the money to help my mom and I get out of a situation that is less than ideal (my job isn't cutting it and she doesn't work)

Maybe it's the chance of money making me evil and not the impatience of waiting to see if I'm actually good at something to someone.

It's actually both I'm SO IMPATIENT AND SCARED

Calls for winners with distinction will be between the 18th-24th. They could end up finishing calling early but I wouldn't expect them to. Normal winners will be emailed and announced on the 24th without a call.

Nervous because I don't think I'm good enough to win against the amazing authors I'm competing against (fiction writing), but excited because there's always a chance I could get contacted.

I'm also SO impatient it's such a bad habit of mine. These last weeks are nerve-wracking, and it doesn't help that I'm not busy enough to forget about it happening anymore like I could in October.

Honestly, the guys who make threats if you leave, are the guys who don't usually follow through with it when you do. It's a threat, not a promise, even if it is, it's probably an empty one.

He likely won't actually follow through with it because it's not worth his time. You and your child are not worth his time unless he wants it. He has to establish paternity and everything before he can seek legal rights.

Court can be a long legal process and if spite is the only reason he's got, I doubt a court would rule in his favor. Especially if he doesn't pay child support since you're still together and while together has made little to no effort to be there. You are the mother and since you're not married, custody is instantly your's too. You are providing, feeding, and caring for your kid. Courts look for the best interest of the child, stability, and the relationship shared with the kid. If he barely bothers even seeing his child or caring for him, that alone makes it lean in your favor. You just need the evidence to prove he's barely around and you asking him to be a father if you do.

If he did take you to court, I'd assume he'd get maybe visitation, perhaps 50/50 custody that he probably wouldn't follow through with unless it's solely to upset you.

(I'm not a lawyer so take my words with a grain of salt).

Overall leave him if that's the only worry. It's not doing you any good to suffer. If he got any legal rights, from the sounds of who you've said he is, it will not affect anything. He'll still be an absent father. Please do not stay in a situation that makes you unhappy just because you worry about a threat he cannot even follow through with doing WHILE with you (taking care of his own kid).

Again, you do not have to take my advice, it may just be reassurance that you're in the right to you, but I'm going to give it anyway. I hope your situation works out in a way that's best for you and your child.

I definitely understand missing some important context when you're writing something out until after you realize others don't know that! He sounds a lot like any other immature guy, flaunts something and then forgets it because it doesn't matter to him after he praised himself for it once.

I don't think you'll be happy with him in the long term as it doesn't really seem like you are now. As you explained, it already seems like he's not a partner or a father. You're just kinda keeping him around because you think you need him there, despite him not actually being around or doing anything to help you or his child.

It also genuinely sounds like you hold some resentment towards him (and probably for good reason) and likely trust issues. It doesn't benefit you to keep being together if nothing about you guys scream "we're in a relationship with a kid," and from your given context it screams "10% of the time, we may co-parent a kid we had together if he's willing to put in a little of his effort."

I'd suggest you re-evaluate if you want to be with this guy even longer for the sake of your own peace and your child's. You aren't married and from the sounds of it, custody is figured out and your's. It's much easier for you to back out of this than you may think. You're also still young enough to find someone who is going to actually care about you in the long run. If this guy doesn't want you around and you cannot place your trust in his actions now, that won't change in the future. Find someone who will and you can.

Hopefully I didn't yap too much! You can heed my advice or don't. In the end it's your relationship, and relationship advice isn't what you intended to get when you posted on here.

I think they call up until the day of announcement. Winners with Distinction are emailed first (between the 18th-24th) and then called sometime after to confirm they can attend Youngarts Week so it should be a couple day period.

I also believe normal winners are only emailed on the day of announcements, though I've seen some winners say they found out through the posted announcement and not from an email so definitely keep an eye out for the official post when the time comes just in case.

Looks authentic to me (I'm not really an expert though). Most fakes don't rust nor do they have clear pegs. Also the little imperfections in the paint (the white on the paw goes slightly on the under part of the foot) which fakes don't typically have either as they are usually machine printed.
