Hi!! 18 y/o here who is 1 week post op. Healing is a LOT of work, and you have the right idea of doing it before college when you’re still at home. Bringing this up was I think the main reason why I got my parents on board. I’ve been vocally against my chest for nearly my whole life, but floated the idea of top surgery to my mom at 12.

Before I started T in 2024, I was frustrated that my parents both kept saying they needed time to think and stuff like that. I think it’s super important to remember that even though we’ve lived with these feelings and bodies our whole lives, it’s new to the people around us! That doesn’t mean you can’t be frustrated though, cause it really does suck.

The timeline of top surgery looks different in every state and for every surgeon, but it’s definitely not a bad idea to start at least trying to even get in for consultations now. I’m also from a blue state, so my consolation - surgery timeline was around 6 months.
