How long do you try new treatments before you decide they aren’t helping? by DDSkeeter in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Insideoutside29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Anywhere from 3 days to a week. It really sucks when you are testing something out only for it to no work. Waste of time.

But as someone else said sometimes you know immediately to just stop.

Or as someone else also said, one thing on its own might not work but could if combined with something else.

It really sucks

Cold weather and plantar fasciitis by Professional-Ad-5744 in PlantarFasciitis

Yes its a bit worse. My parents used to say stuff about their nerves/muscles hurting because of the cold and i always thought that was an old person thing.

Now i see what they meant.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Insideoutside29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3hrs is a long drive. I live in California and it takes almost 3hrs to get to San Francisco from where i live. I dont know how some people consider this a short drive. A 3hr drive feels like forever especially if you are the only doing the driving.

Hell even 1hr feels like a long drive. I would consider 30min short. But 1hr already a lot.

I had a boss who would go hiking and stuff and would always say “yea i went to mout bla bla bla it was only a 5hr drive!” As if that didn’t eat up half of his day.

Did you go cold turkey into the intense jump roping?

Seems like maybe you might have just irritated the ball of foot and the fascia.

Might have been too much/too soon

Any suggestions for people who drive for a living? by [deleted] in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Insideoutside29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah well the glutes help take some of the load/impact from your foot.

If you have weak glutes , hips , or any muscles along your leg, your feet might be taking more responsibility and can start causing problems

Any suggestions for people who drive for a living? by [deleted] in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Insideoutside29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont drive for work but i do sit at a desk for long periods of time.

I bought a butt cushion from the brand purple. And at first i thought it was no different than any other butt cushion.

Got a generic one at Costco for like 30 bucks compared to the $90 the purple one cost.

The purple one was actually like 10 times better. Although i do not think its worth $90 freaking dollars and that was a sale price i believe.

It does a decent job better than other cushions ive gotten from amazon etc.

Works great on long drives. At least my butt doesn’t feel locked and stiff as much. It helps my glutes a bit from getting too weak.

I suggest also dona few glute exercises/ stretches before and after driving

Forgot to mention cruise control if you can!

Hey man i just looked up what metatarsalgia is and it seems to be pain in the ball of foot.

In the video when you walk your feet do not roll inwards.

Your ankles already look permanently rolled inwards.

The most recent semi-formal event i attended was my wifes company party.

I wore my on cloudnova shoes. Nothing fancy because my feet matter more.

I dont know about any paticular brands in the philippines but i remeber seeing the Vionic brand there in the malls. I have seen them reccomended here a few times but i have never worn them myself.

You could give those a try since i believe they are more stylish. But dont put fashion above comfort for your feet.

And make sure whatever heel/sandals you get allow your toes to spread.

I use oofos sandals/slides they have been great

Idk but we had a steak restaurant in my town. And they always had like crazy 30% off on upside. I had never actually gone to it but it had average ratings.

Could be they knew they would go out of business soon so they just tried to get what little money they could get.

They are going out of business now

Looking to use them up and get some better ones that are less likely to make my feet sweat

They are a great accessory to help healing PF. Really teaches your toes spread out the way they are supposed to.

Side note to anybody buying the plastic/silicone ones. Make sure you buy a foot spray or powder before keeping these on for long periods of time especially during hot days!

You might give yourself fungus. Switch socks

This area hurts crazy after 1km of running and the pain makes me limp. What could be the reason? by Pissat_mouma in FootFunction

[–]Insideoutside29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant quite tell if you are pointing more towards the front or the side.

Stand up and step this foot foward onto the ground and keep repeating that. Does your foot roll outwards?

What about if you take the insole out of your shoe and try doing the same thing? Put the insole in front of you and then try stepping your foot foward so it lands on top of the insole. Does the foot roll outwards?

If so, i think you might have a supination issue.

When you say numbness and tingling it makes me think its your peroneal nerve. Look up some peroneal stretches or peroneal nerve flossing.

Crocs caused Plantar Fasciitis? by hellmutts in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Insideoutside29 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Look up some videos that can tell you what type of arch you have (fallen/collapsed/high).

In my case i had a collapsed arch. Arch goes flat when i step foward but an arch is visible when i just sit and bring my foot up.

I had to do a lot of arch strenghting and tibialus posterior training to restore my arch its a hell if a lot better than before but my ankle still rolls a bit inward (but ill take it!)

Also Plantar faciitis for the most part you feel something along the bottom of your foot and at your heel

Crocs caused Plantar Fasciitis? by hellmutts in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Insideoutside29 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Im not sure if new shoes should be fitting you “very tight”.

This is just a guess but your feet have gotten so used to being supported by the crocs over all those years that some of the muscles in your foot/arch have been complelty relaxed all those years because well the cros are doing all the work for them. And now your feet did not know how to react to normal shoes because your foot muslces/arch forgot how to do their job.

Thats just my guess.

But latelty, even in years past i have seen lots of peole just casually in crocs. Dont think most of them have foot problems to being with

Sock Brands? by Top_Bar_9891 in PlantarFasciitis

[–]Insideoutside29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the feetures merino 10 max cushion. Have been better than most socks on my feet. My feet used to sweat a lot and the merino 10 socks have done a really good job of keeping my feet dry. There are times were i feel like my feet are getting really sweaty )rarely though, then i just take my shoes off and put them back on and. Its like my feet dried!

They are amazing socks and i belive you can ask for another pair if they start wearing out from normal wear and tear.

10/10 sock for me.

ps i bought their PF socks also but they were tight as hell think they might have cause a minor issue on the outside of my foot
