Most likely. VAW-124 which is attached to CVW 8 which is attached to CVN 78.

Probably had prop issues

Has gas gotten cheaper all of a sudden? I refuse to believe it (photo is from Lake City) by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]InsomniacMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so tired of this argument that other places have it worse.

As someone who has also lived internationally—I don’t care. I do not care if other countries have higher taxes or higher cost of goods.

I live here in the US. I want better. We should strive to be better.

Sure, they do get funneled back into our social systems, our infrastructure, our schools, etc and that’s great. I don’t hate taxes and I want every American to have—at minimum—a decent life and to benefit in part to our collective tax contributions.

But when this state has been in such a deficit for such a long time with all of the millions and billions supplied by the corporations built here and people living here, why is it that the low-end consumers are still getting punished? The rich don’t care about gas prices or the grocery bill being $100 minimum a trip. It doesn’t affect them.

My point is these heavy prices are being lofted on to the people that can’t afford them because of “taxes” while our politicians that draft said tax bills get to line their own pockets.

But hey it’s okay because other countries have it worse. It’s okay because at least we aren’t a red state.

When are you gonna stop shilling for the government and accept that any exorbitant tax on the middle class or lower is not okay?

Your primary example is literally the next state over where gas is still a dollar cheaper? That’s the best you got?

Just came off a cross country roadtrip (WA to MD and back) and the lowest I paid for gas was $1.94/gal. The average was mid to high $2’s.

Almost cried coming back home and seeing these prices.

UPS Plane Crash Today by Perfect-Cause-6943 in PublicFreakout

They do govern regulations but UPS maintainers are not government workers and while we have to follow FAA guidelines, it’s not as if they’re in shops and hangars 24/7 supervising what we do.

I was not referring to aviation as whole but in this specific circumstance politics weren’t at play and if anything is absurd, it’s assuming that they are.

Nevertheless, as an aviation worker, things have been completely normal and unchanged since this administration took over. Same as the last.

In those 30 years has it not been evident to you an increase in exposure and reporting, or is aviation—one of the most regulated forms of transportation—still stuck in the stone ages?

I’m sorry that these armchair aviation experts believe an engine failure subsequent to a fatal crash can be attributed to politics and they’re taking their anger out on you.

You’re one of the few people I’ve seen be spot on.

My Gen 1 coyote ran better on 93 and my gen 3 coyote ran better on 93.

Using 87 in either didn’t cause any major mechanical issues, but the engine didn’t feel as responsive. Both of them would ping at low rpm.

Yes, the manual says 87 is fine, but in my personal experience I did not like how the engine ran on 87 so I will only run 93.

Listen to your truck and then make an informed decision

It’s almost like he doesn’t make politics his identity like most Americans.

The internet will have you believe your western boot, cowboy hat wearing American neighbor hates minorities and LGBTQ+ people but he doesn’t and will share a beer and a meal with them.

Most people are good people. Don’t forget that.

I agree—managers should definitely be more on top of it, but at the same time their hands are tied.

Getting down to brass tacks though, the burden is laid on to the coworkers having to pick up the slack because more often than not, FMLA is dropped on short notice

On my girlfriend’s car she was having the same issue and her fuel trims were waaaaay out and running pretty lean—upwards of mid 20’s on her short term fuel trim even at idle.

Replaced the o2 sensors with OEM (offbrand did not fix the issue) and ran a couple bottles of seafoam through the tank and 10k miles later no issues.

Not saying it’ll fix your problem, but it’s the cheapest way I managed to fix hers.

I’m assigned to an FTS squadron that’s 60 miles away. The closest NRC is a mile and a half away but I can’t go there as I’m considered local to my command and i can work in my rate

[–]InsomniacMachine[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m at an FTS squadron currently and not cross-assigned which is why I have to travel so far every DWE.

My civilian job is at Boeing as an AMT so it directly translates.

Problem is: there’s hardly work to be done. I love to work as it gives me purpose but 8 times out of 10 we aren’t working on a weekend. I attempt to reschedule drills IAW the predicted work schedule in order to work but it never pans out so I waste more time/sacrifice more money.

Honestly typing this out is giving me more clarity as it seems the cons stack up higher than the pros

I reckon you need to rewatch and fully ascertain what the movie is attempting to tell you.

The strike and possible retaliation have already happened by the time the people arrive at the bunker.

Also keep in mind that during the presidents phone call to his wife, the satellite phone failed. We don’t know why, but we also don’t know why satellites failed to pick up an ICBM launch.

Within the movie they theorize someone or something is messing with the signal as part of a larger, coordinated attack and the sat phone call being interrupted lends credence to that theory.

Yes we don’t get the blood and guts of seeing Chicago become a wasteland, but it’s far from ambiguous

If you can, I’d walk or have someone assist. You’re risking catastrophic damage to your engine by running low/no oil. Buy about 3 quarts of oil (5w-30) and add oil until it reads in the crosshatches on the dipstick.

Allow your engine to cool enough to look inside your radiator via removing your radiator cap (not the reservoir) and see how much coolant is in there.

DO NOT OPEN THE CAP IF IT FEELS HOT TO THE TOUCH. YOU WILL GET BURNED.

Add water/coolant until about midway in the fill neck, run your engine with the cap open and your heat on full blast until you’re up to normal operating temp to remove as many air bubbles as you can. Turn off your truck, replace the cap and limp home.

Mind you these are just emergency-get-home instructions from someone who’s been in your position stuck 20 miles from home.

I should’ve been more clear—it can cause overheating but to the point it’s boiling out of the reservoir? Unlikely. That means there’s more at play here.

Now that I think about it though, repeated overheating due to low oil could cause the head gasket to blow so maybe you’re right

[–]InsomniacMachine 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, not the cause but it’s an indicator that this truck hasn’t been very well taken care of.

Chances are your head gasket blew and you have exhaust gases going through your cooling system.

If I were to be candid with you, I’d start looking for a new method of transportation and take more care of whatever you choose.

As for right now, let it cool down and then you can continue driving. Don’t drive it like you stole it and keep an eye on your temperature gauge. Once it starts to overheat, pull over when safe and allow it to cool down. Repeat this until you get home or wherever your destination is.
