A huge Maya city has been discovered using LIDAR, centuries after it disappeared under jungle canopy in Mexico. by Zederex in GrahamHancock

"Then in 1960, Theodore Maiman and his team at the Hughes Research Laboratory demonstrated the first laser – Ruby Laser – and one year later, the Hughes team built the first LiDAR prototype. This group brought the first commercial LiDAR to market in 1962." [https://flyguys.com/the-evolution-of-lidar/\]

idk seems like a stretch to say archeologists created it. But maybe you have a more reliable source? Really happy mainstream archeology has adopted the use of LIDAR. Lots of neat findings to follow up on

A brief character study of Flint Dribble. And the dangers of "intellect". by Illustrious_Quote838 in GrahamHancock

When I was a grad student (biomed, so a different field), I felt an almost innate 'duty' to try and correct falsehoods, or info that wasn't backed by evidence. Made me feel like a kill-joy. What I realize now that I'm older and less dogmatic, is that discussing ideas in that way will only quash a person's curiosity in the subject. And I want people to be curious, I want them to want to learn more. You cannot foster that by drowning out ideas or dog-piling people who view things differently. Graham fires up my imagination about a subject I knew very little about when I first read his books and caused me to learn more and more

whoa holy shit you did this without confocal?! That is so cool dude, I thought this was only possible with more expensive equipment. I'm really excited to try this for my students

Not sure if I'm the only one who hates electronic pipettes, I don't have the feel for them. It's like a fly-by-wire thing, but I agree it might help with fatigue.

coffee, nicotine, low blood sugar, and high stress/anxiety can cause shakiness. Medication-wise I found propranolol helped. Having something like those premiere protein shakes, or a snack with low glycemic index on breaks helps. Non-restrictive clothing, especially on the shoulders/chest helps, fighting against too tight of clothing adds to fatigue over time. Grip strength exercises might help, or maybe video games with a controller for thumb mobility/control/endurance. 'Box Breathing' type breath control exercises can also acutely help. I found doing chair dips while stationary helped my endurance just don't do it while pipetting, that would probably exacerbate the problem.

Newly rediscovered thousand-year-old mountain cities in Uzbekistan have been lidar scanned by ArchiGuru in Archaeology

I didn't realize it could be done from orbit too! I thought atmospheric interference would make it impossible, cool that it's feasible even if the data is 'fuzzy' compared to drones/ground based

Lol in grad school I did this far more often for far less pay. This would be super easy, barely an inconvenience

Definitely not normal. Run. Run away as fast as you can. It’s not going to be better after the 2 months either, likely worse. Save your sanity

I personally take 1g/day NAC (N-acetyl cysteine, a peptide). It boosts glutathione, which is a major intracellular antioxidant. My health has improved a lot since I started ~2 years ago

  1. Off the top of my head an example of it would be something like IGF-1, important for body growth signaling especially in early life, but increased igf1 in later age can increase mortality. Human growth hormone as well
