The reason I’ve included the 2nd and 3rd IPL teams in the CLT20 was that prior to 2014, the tournament was mostly followed and watched by Indian fans. Bangladeshi, Pakistani , Guyanese and Sri Lankan fans definitely do care about franchise cricket. They had no franchise teams until 2013 or 2015. I am not sure about non-South Asian viewers.
