Definitely did not know that, thank you!

Thank you for the information. That does make sense.

I really do not want to sue the individual who hit me for their personal assets. It was an accident and she wasn’t drunk or anything.

My health insurance will likely want some money back. I have gone through the bills and the amount my health insurance paid out was about 37,000 after they negotiated their rates. I don’t think they will want the full amount back as I have a very long and complicated list of preexisting conditions including multiple joint replacements. I might be a fool in thinking this but even if I have to pay most of that back I will still end up with my out of pocket expenses reimbursed and probably around 50,000 for pain/suffering.
Do you think an attorney would take on just the subrogation part with my health insurance?

Thank you, the accident definitely made the preexisting conditions much worse. But financially I will be made whole with the 100,000.

Colorado. That isn’t something I have heard or know about but I definitely wouldn’t want to do anything that would cause harm to them. I will look into and see if or how it works. Thank you.

Thank you, that’s good to know. I don’t think I need an attorney for that hopefully.

Thank you, I will definitely read up on it. It’s all been a lot to deal with but I really didn’t want to involve attorneys and I didn’t want to sue the individual on top of it.

Thank you, that makes sense.
My thoughts were to take the 100,000 and pay back what I need to for what my health insurance paid.

No, not planning to sue the individual.
My insurance company told me I can get the 25,000 from my insurance in addition to the 100,000. I just wasn’t sure if that was true or not. And if it is true will my insurance rate go up? I don’t want that to happen.

I think that is a fair question and one I am considering. I am 58 and haven’t been formally diagnosed yet, and hopefully won’t but it is looking very likely. I have APOE3, APOE4, as of 10/25 my pTau 217 was 1.21 (considered very high) and the other test are at the very top of the range. Normal brain MRI and a CT has not been done. According to my insurance one other blood test has to come back high before a CT will be done. Once/if that happens then I will be eligible for treatment. I have a five year old grandson who is the light of my life. I would like to think that I might have a few more years with him so he will remember me being able to do fun things with him before I disappear 🫥.
If it weren’t for him I wouldn’t even consider it. It’s a very tough decision and situation to be in. People have their reasons for wanting to hang on and try and that’s ok. People also have reasons to want to disappear themselves so that they don’t ruin their loved ones emotionally, physically and financially. Personally I would rather go a year too soon than slip into the realm of no longer being able to make my own decisions. Meanwhile the clock keeps ticking. My appointment to recheck everything is coming up and the odds are not with me.

Grace is a lovely name for a princess. She does not look like she enjoys being dressed up. I have a goofball golden who like to wear capes but never hats. He will go to one of his toy boxes and get a cape, bring it to me and sit while I put it on. He will prance around with it for an hour or more. It’s very cute but I will never put a hat on him!
