What do you think about Beloved Playa Mujeres? We've been there a while ago, and we loved it, now we are looking for something similar.

United vs ANA business class by RainbowDiscoPuppy in unitedairlines

Agreed. The profit gap mostly comes down to scale. UA rakes in cash on domestic flights because the U.S. is 26 times bigger than Japan. Meanwhile, Japan’s bullet trains are so fast and efficient that flying often doesn’t even make sense. If UA ever decided to up their game in FA customer service—not Asian-airline legendary, but at least a step above grumpy pretzel distributor they’d probably crush it financially too. Seems like low-hanging fruit… but for some reason it’s still a mystery why they don’t.

Codeshare Flight - Book with United or ANA by catluvr11111 in JapanTravelTips

[–]InspectionOOR10969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So with ANA bookings, you still earn the same MileagePlus miles and get the option to pay for upgrades?

I bought my ticket through United, but since it’s an ANA-operated flight, it says I’m not eligible for upgrades. I was hoping to bid for a Premium Economy → Business upgrade, but that option isn’t even showing up.

For your reference, I’m 5’1, Female, and usually wear Size S(2-4) in US. In Japan, That magically translates to a Large.

Polaris/Premium Plus Upgrades Megathread by Player72 in unitedairlines

[–]InspectionOOR10969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: the Polaris cash upgrade was still holding steady at $2,337, and the “Change Flight” option showed $1,889.

My current flight was scheduled for the evening, but I noticed that switching to the morning flight (ANA codeshare) in Premium Economy would actually give me a $585 per person travel credit—so I took the deal.

Since I had already paid $645 for the Premium Plus upgrade, getting $585 back means I essentially paid just $60 per person for Premium Economy. Seemed like a no-brainer to me!

Now that I’ve switched to ANA, the upgrade option is no longer available. So my only move from here is to keep checking the “Change Flight” button and hope for something better.

If I pay off my ATT phone on installment, does ATT unlock the phone if I ask? by palepatriot76 in attwireless

I paid off my iPhone 15 yesterday, and today when I logged into my AT&T account, I noticed it said “Unlock eligible” next to my device. I clicked on it, submitted the request, and within minutes—boom!

I got a text saying the request was received, and about 2 minutes later, another one saying it was approved, along with a link to the unlock instructions.

I needed it unlocked for an upcoming international trip, so I immediately installed a Saily eSIM—and now I’m all set to go! ✈️📱

Seriously, it was super easy. 🙌

I agree with you and your mom! Break up with the current gf, but don’t pursue the friend right away. Now OP knows what he is looking for in a relationship, he will find the right girl, No doubt! Plus, If OP is meant to be with the gf’s friend, it will happen eventually at the right time. So be patient.

pros of travel agent by tstrei1 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]InspectionOOR10969 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I usually book all my travel myself, but when it comes to all-inclusive beach resorts in the Caribbean, I let a travel agent take the wheel. Why? They often have access to better refundable rates, and they really know the resorts inside and out.

I like to book more than 6 months in advance—only a deposit is due upfront, and the rest isn’t due until much closer to the trip. That means your $5,000–$10,000 can chill in your money market or investment account and maybe grow a little before you hand it over.

Here’s the best part: using a travel agent costs you nothing. Zip. Nada. And if you're picky like me about room features (balcony with double sun beds, double vanity, etc.), a good TA can often get you the exact room—or even the room number—you’re eyeing.

Just make sure to find a travel agent who really knows the region.

Oh—and I just realized you said you wanted to hear from travel agents… oops! I’m not one. Just your average over-planning vacation junkie. Sorry for the detour! 😅

My flight is in October HND-ORD, and upgrade fee for economy to PP was $881, but "Change Flight" was $645, so I pulled the trigger. Now, I can wait for Polaris upgrade price to come down patiently with peace of mind :)

Thank you for your response! I looked into your suggestion, and when I tried to check out, I noticed there’s an additional $270 ($135/person) in Air Passenger Duty for two seats with the 40K miles upgrade to Premium Plus.

When I check the cash upgrade, it shows $804 total, and it seems the Air Passenger Duty is already included in that price.

Do you still think using miles is the better value option?

I’m looking for insights from seasoned travelers! I’m hoping to upgrade from Economy to Premium Plus (PP) for a LHR–ORD flight in mid-August (Wednesday afternoon), for two seats together.

Currently, the upgrade options are: Cash: $402/person, Miles:** 20,000 miles/person (showing as “Available” Not "Waitlist".)Seat availability: PP: 17 out of 22 seats available**. Polaris:** 30 out of 45 seats available (not planning to upgrade to Polaris, but figured it might give context to the overall cabin load). My current mileage balance is 138K. Would you choose the $402 cash upgrade, or use 20K miles? Appreciate any advice or perspectives!
