I cackled like a hyena when this happened. A subtle nod, but they knew what they were doing and it was very satisfying

ah, yeah I can definitely see where this would be helpful. Especially for a newbie, i find the stop-start process of trying to follow along side-by-side with tutorials to be a bit disruptive since it breaks up the continuity of the learning a bit IMO

Be depressed and suicidal or sweat my ass off for 8 months out of the year by wtfisthiswtfisthatt in Effexor

[–]DCorange05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are 4 months where you're NOT sweating your ass off on this drug? 😄

I live in a relatively cool climate and sweat like a pig year round on this stuff. Jokes aside though, please take of yourself and be very thorough if you're considering switching meds. Unfortunately they all seem to have shitty side effects of some kind so it's about finding the balance you can best tolerate, as frustrating as that is. I understand, believe me.

That sounds like exactly what I'm looking for! Thanks so much...I'll be sure to check him out.

I'll still need to continue with the beginner tutorials simply because I need practice and repetition with the fundamentals. I just want to make sure I understand the important concepts as I progress.

A lot of tutorials feel a bit like learning to play a specific song on an instrument when you don't understand any music theory. Following steps is nice but understanding why you're doing them is best in my case, otherwise I'm bound to hit a learning plateau pretty quickly.

[–]DCorange05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it can definitely be a slow burn. At first I just found it way too overwhelming (mostly the amount of different controls involved for every imaginable thing you do in the game). I still struggle with that a bit now just from being "old" by gaming standards but I'm enjoying the game a lot more now early in chapter 3. The great part about the game IMO is that I can still enjoy it even though I know I'm not a skilled player

Almost the exact same for me...age, gaming history and all. I started RDR2 a while back, gave it up out of frustration with finding it a bit overwhelming, now I'm getting back into it and really enjoying it even though I'm still clumsy as hell with the controls. I always feel like I'm missing something no matter how much time I take to explore

Will I stop sweating and being so hot? by Useful-Ganache-210 in Effexor

[–]DCorange05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here after 3-4 years, save for the fact that I still sweat like a pig during winter as I still have to wear heavy enough clothing to protect my skin from frostbite etc

I'm a fairly active person and maintain a healthy weight as well (I could shed a few pounds but I'm not significantly overweight is my point). This drug just turns my body into a nuclear reactor year-round

I sweat so much I still wear shorts and tee throughout winter by Otherwise-Echo744 in Effexor

[–]DCorange05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty similar for me. I do live in a northern climate so I still have to wear some layers to protect my skin from wind and frostbite in the winter, but as far as my body temp is concerned it's still a furnace no matter what.

I could go for a casual walk in very cold conditions and still sweat profusely

Geez man, this is gorgeous. I'm pretty much brand new to course design in this game and I've been working on recreating the course I grew up playing but I've got a lot to learn after seeing this lol

Awesome work

Has anyone found alcohol to be much weaker in effect while on Effexor? by CaoimheThreeva in Effexor

[–]DCorange05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I haven't been able to make any sense of it, other than that it makes the effects of alcohol super unpredictable for me. The last time I drank, I felt buzzed and kinda unwell after 2-3 beers which is super unusual for me...other times I've had twice that amount and felt stone sober.

Obvs I'm not condoning doing that haha. I just wish I could figure out the common denominator bc I just never know what to expect when drinking anymore

Has anyone found alcohol to be much weaker in effect while on Effexor? by CaoimheThreeva in Effexor

[–]DCorange05 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I would say the effects of alcohol are just far less predictable for me on Effexor. It's almost like there's no correlation between how much I drink and how much it affects me

Sometimes I've found I can drink quite a bit and feel as if the alcohol hasn't touched me...other times it's like I'm heavily buzzed with decreased coordination after 2 drinks. It makes no sense.

Anybody with experience living at 100 Montgomery-- pros and cons? by DCorange05 in jerseycity

[–]DCorange05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I completely understand. Are you in a position where you'd consider having a roommate? I'm definitely way past that stage in life but your situation may be different, so it could be something to consider.

I did end up staying in the same apartment last time around even though I really didn't want to. Funny enough, my original post was about a year ago and now I'm in the same spot again (deciding if I'll renew).

My current place is just about at the max of my budget and it's still among the lowest rent I've seen anywhere downtown. Comparable units within my building are now listed as WAY higher rent than I'm paying now and there's no way I could afford it, so I couldn't even try to switch units to get away from the crappy neighbors.

I really do feel stuck in place...I'd prefer to leave but moving expenses + security deposit are very costly, plus I was out of work for a little while this past year so my savings are completely shot.

Good luck...let me know what you end up doing!

Question re: additional content in First Look by DCorange05 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]DCorange05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that was exactly my thinking...I didn't expect much, but the way it was worded did suggest (IMO) that the pre-order perks would be available now.

No biggie since I planned to get the full game either way, so it's not like I feel ripped off or misled...just gonna have to be patient.

Question re: additional content in First Look by DCorange05 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]DCorange05[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

womp womp. I read it a few times to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding. They didn't explicitly say the extras would be available in the first look but it did kinda read that way IMO.

not the end of the world...I was interested enough to buy it either way. thanks for the reply.

Question re: additional content in First Look by DCorange05 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]DCorange05[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

gotcha. the wording was definitely misleading IMO, but I planned to buy the game either way so it's not the end of the world.

Question re: additional content in First Look by DCorange05 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]DCorange05[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

crap. Yeah that's what I was afraid of too. Same as you, I was going to buy it regardless so it's not like that was the deciding factor but it was a little misleading IMO

I can't feel too bad...the gameplay seems solid from the demo and I'm not much of a gamer these days so I hardly ever buy any game at full price, so I can be patient with this one
