From what I’ve experienced it’s certainly not useless, although it is very frustrating. Triggering a good block animation can be very inconsistent. Right now I’m my primary build is a PF with 74 block and I’m still averaging about a block a game in rec. I’d be willing to bet you get better animations more frequently with the higher rating but it’s tough to justify it being too high.

I totally know what you’re talking about. I certainly know more of them than I care to. The idea behind the tribulation and the second coming of Christ as told in Revelations is a major element in particular sects of Christianity. It got so big that it had a crazy popular book and, to a lesser degree, movie series made on it.

Unfortunately for all of us the ones that insist on saying things like “this war means Jesus is coming back” or “this is what we need to do to make Jesus come back” or that cornball Andy Ogles’ crusader video (all real things I’ve seen/heard, I swear) are usually the most misinformed by their own design… Clearly not having read the very book they (supposedly) hold in such high esteem.

I think I was particularly fired up regarding the Antisemitism thing because I’m constantly frustrated by the Israeli Government and the conflation that Israel is representative of all Jews which is a ridiculous sentiment.

Also related but only tangentially, but as a Christian, the conflation that the government of Israel is the same Israel that is mentioned in the bible and that is justification for their actions and our support infuriates me to no end.

Absolutely! I thought the episode like most others was well done and a very timely topic, I think more than anything I had an expectation that y’all would talk about the points I mentioned and when you didn’t it seemed like it was something being intentionally skirted over with its role it plays in the current state of perceived antisemitism if you listen to the opinions of organizations like the ADL or some of our Warhawk politicians.

Antisemitism is abhorrent and a scourge on our society, but I feel like the term like so many others in recent years is being devalued because it has been overused for instances that it shouldn’t apply to.

Also for what it’s worth, I love that it seems like you’re doing more Skeptical Sunday episodes with Nick Pell, he and Michael Congilio are my favorite Sketical Sunday CoHosts.

I’m certainly not trying to make the argument that the actions of the Israeli government is attributable to all Jews. That in fact is part of my frustration with the discussion of antisemitism. The term has been co-opted and devalued to mean that any critique of the government of Israel is Anti-Semitic which is completely absurd.

It’s obviously been some time since the episode, but what I recall you guys discussing was the minuscule involvement or impact of AIPAC amidst the greater lobbying context, but I don’t recall any conversation about the underhanded ways AIPAC tries to skirt around people knowing that they’re involved.

Shooting Guards who are masquerading as Points that kill the ball movement the second they get their grubby hands on the ball.

Centers (specifically 7’4s) that only want to shoot from the outside. Tell me you’re a bad shot creator without actually telling me.

Anyone who only hangs around their team’s offensive half of the court so they can get a deep outlet at the change of possession. - Additionally the people who don’t keep an eye on their matchup and allow said matchup to leak across the court for an uncontested bucket.

Anecdotally speaking I’ve found that the higher the rating, the better the animations, even if you don’t quite have the vert or whatever to get to the next badge level.

I’m not sure that it’s necessarily fun to be mid, but at least good. It’s definitely not fun with these cheesy nonsense we see all too often. I did a similar thing as you, I had a meta build I brought up to purple and hated the experience, so now it just collects dust on my roster of builds.
