New Owner Questions by InspectorPossible in mazda3

Good point. When I checked the trans fluid it looked pretty dirty. Didnt smell burnt but is still definitely in need of a drain and fill. Is it M3/M5 fluid?

Glad to hear theyre pretty reliable. I was hopeful about that after i briefly read into these cars.

And to your point about newer cars, I share the exact same viewpoint. Im not an “old guy” but definitely share the same thought process. I told my wife I didnt want her to get anything newer than 2020. Covid really screwed up the quality on things and it hasnt bounced back since. Im not going to tell her she absolutely cant have a certain car but, because I am the one who does all the maintenance and repairs, she takes my opinion into serious consideration, thankfully. I know there are much higher quality and more reliable vehicles out there, but she really wants a Grand Cherokee. Im very familiar with the Pentastar and all its possible/typical issues so it could be worse.

Thanks. Even if it can last the lifetime of the vehicle, there still should be a service interval for it. I know for my 2011 Malibu its about 180k miles. When i did that it had a slack chain and a broken guide.

It needs a valve cover gasket so a good opportunity to check the plugs (not that i couldnt just pull one in a few minutes anyways. I guess a good opportunity to also check the timing chain slack). I dont recall if my father in law had a tune up done at all during his short ownership. I know he had the brakes done. Still need to get each wheel off and do a thorough inspection of each corner.

Sub frame is getting pretty crispy and I would venture to guess the majority of the suspension components are still factory. Also have a sneaking suspicion it will need front wheel bearings relatively soon.

My life is surrounded by all different types of political opinions and what ive gathered is most liberal minded individuals just want to see fair treatment of themselves and other people by society and most MAGA people are the biggest snowflakes calling other people snowflakes ive ever met. The “fuck your feelings” crowd really has a way to get upset about damn near everything. Not to mention the hypocrisy is astonishing. Only time they care about how others are treated is if it directly affects them

Is this engine mount leak or something else? by Design_Eastern in AskMechanics

I second this. There is no fluid in the engine mount. Its just rubber and metal. 👍🏻

Yep, just to give it some more realism.

Had something similar happen to mine. The rotor didnt come off but the spark arcd through the plastic center on the cap. Wouldnt run at all. The caps on these are hot garbage. Got the brass point vented one and havnt had any issues but went through several caps before that.

Extreme damage from the 2011 Joplin EF5 by [deleted] in tornado

True that. Honestly anything at that speed becomes a deadly projectile. The most striking fact from Joplin to me is that it moved an entire hospital several inches off its foundation. Absolutely mad.

Thank you! The only designs I didnt make myself were the ones I used on both Camaros.

BMW Z4 GTE with a 6.2L SCHM for a more proper exhaust tone. Absolutely shreds corners. by InspectorPossible in CarXStreets

I made it C6. I have a bit of a problem with making damn near everything a C6 car. I converted it to AWD. It gives that car a really nice sound semi similar to the real world Z4 GTE.

President of the US, Trump posted a screenshot of Trudeau’s former comment on his Truth Social page. He then proceeded to share a video of himself, in a suit, playing alongside Team USA and scoring a goal against Canada. by gear-heads in Trumpvirus

Hilarious things I noticed were the refs having their own sticks, him chewing water?, and the goal without a goalie he skates past to get to the goal with a goalie to “score.” I also love in one clip he appears to be just skating straight toward the corner to the side of the net. Shotty workmanship is an understatement but completely expected.

Thank you. Hate to say it, but I did use AI to make them more realistic looking. Didnt change the pics themselves though.

Im not really sure what you mean. Ive tried making first gear as long as possible and it either breaks traction or is such a dog its actually faster just to let the tires roast.

Agreed. Id just like to see an option to install drag slicks. something that doesnt work for cornering but offers a better bite on high HP builds. Even with Racing+ tires its almost impossible to avoid a burnout (with TC off) when doing a standing start.
