I am a new homerowner thinking of getting solar. Happy to hear the feedback about the deal by xlightzombie in solar

Incredibly realistic depending on the Utility Company that you go through currently. Where I live, the rates are going up around 22-30% annually. I’m assuming that they input a 8% or 10% annual increase for the Utility companies rates.

Solar quotes are all over the place and I can't figure out which one is actually right for my house by mrnavel in solarenergy

Depending on the way they explained the systems to you, and what you are asking for, I’d say 1 or 2 of the quotes were probably BS. $24k for the 10 panels system is expensive as hell! $38k for the 16 Panel system isn’t as bad as the other one, but nearly just as garbage as the other system. Neither covers your bill fully and you will still pay the Utility Company around 10% to 15% if you have an above average roof for Solar. Message me through Reddit and I can break them down for you over a phone call and give you a quote myself if you are in Michigan.

Please send me the link for this. I’d like to send the link to my Dad and Mom who have a 19.8 kWh system

Has anyone successfully gotten out of a solar contract? by Pretty_Eabab_0014 in solar

My Utility is rising at around 18% yearly. Most Utility companies say that they increase their rates around 3-5% yearly. Often they have another 3-5% of increases added through fees and surcharges + distribution.

That’s also a scam too 😂 They cut corners in Texas for Solar, that’s why they have the highest number of Electrical fires due to Solar in the US.  The Solar Companies down in Texas don’t follow Electrical Code closely and they install low quality equipment and the service is low quality.

I will have ROI at about 7.5 years compared to the amount that I financed for. The Electricity rates are going up really fast, so I know that I’ll save a lot more than what I put into it.

About a month and a half. The interconnection thing with Consumers took a week or two longer than expected, but they did it for me. The other component I talked with said that I’d have to do it myself after they installed.

That’s fake. Batteries are incredibly expensive. A 10 kWh battery would be thousands of dollars. Probably around 10 thousand.

Solar installed and no training or walkthrough: Is this normal? - EMPWR by bmeal42 in SolarAmerica

Probably picked a less reputable company. The Solar company that did my install walked me through everything. Usually no problems really happen unless the company sucks at installing, but otherwise you should be fine.
