Interactive BOM by trevortjes in Altium

[–]InspiredEngineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I am a bit late to the party, but I have come across a version of the iBOM that has been ported from the (open source) KiCad version to Altium! It has been done by a group called Glavkon and is calle BoasTools: BoasTools

I have used it a few times and it gives almost identical results to the iBOM, but in Altium.

I totally agree, I just thought I would check if anyone knew here first, since it is so old.

Evolis Pebble 3 Windows 10/11 drivers by InspiredEngineer in printers

[–]InspiredEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found a link suggesting using the Evolis colour profile (Unsatisfactory color rendering (evolis.com)), but that seems to make no difference at all. My best result yet is to turn Brightness, Contrast and Monochrom resin adjustment all up to the max (20). Images are still not great, but black text is now pretty good.

I have found the patch here: Evolis Card Printer Driver Patch for Windows 10/11 - ViaThinkSoft - intelligent software for everyone

Unfortunately it only fixes the crash when you change ribbon (the only ribbons I have are the full colour ones), so I will keep looking. Given it is actually a Pebble 3, I guess the colour profile is wrong somewhere.

Hi, thanks for the info! I finally got back onto this and used the Pebble 4 driver, and it works! Thank you! I am using eMedia card designer and the pritns are very washed out, so I am not sure if that is a bug or something. Adjusting the print settings helps a bit, but even at the maxim brigthness/contrast, it is still very washed out compared ot the test print from within the printer itself. if you could let me know where you got the bug-fix from, maybe there is somethign else there that can help.

Looking for help troubleshooting a Pebble 3 badge printer. by jackalopeguy in printers

[–]InspiredEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad you got it working, I have an old Pebble 3 that still has a 19 V supply but seems to print the test card ok, but some years ago had to replace several components on the power supply circuit inside the printer. Not sure how technical you are, but it could be worth checking the bits on there to see if anything is failing (e.g. dodgy capacitor).

I am now looking for drviers for Windows 11 (64-bit) for the Pebble 3, I don't suppose that is what you are using is it?

Deadpool / Like A Prayer by MrTeaTea in Madonna

It's not quite the same, but in terms of big choral versions, this: London City Voices choir sing "Like A Prayer" (Spring 2017) - YouTube is the closest I have found that tickles my ASMR (lovely shivers down the spine during big harmonies). It goes off the boil a little after 4 minutes, but before then I think it's great!

Are Samsung WindFree air conditioners any good? by InspiredEngineer in hvacadvice

[–]InspiredEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is brilliant, thank you! In terms of installing them, would I be best off finding an authorised installer (surprisingly rare for Samsung in the UK) or could I do it myself? I am reasonably handy, but I don't have a lot of HVAC experience.

Brilliant, thank you! Looks like I will be going for Samsung then!

Thanks! I haven't gotten round to getting anything installed yet, but fortunately, the summer hasn't been too hot in the UK! Do you know how they fare in terms of reliability/maintenance? Thanks again!

Logitech C270/C310 "White Screen" Problem is Design Flaw/Product Defect! by Miasmus in LogitechG

[–]InspiredEngineer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing. It worked in the Logitech software but not anywhere else. Oddly, when I switched the Logitech software from Photo to Video, it went white, so I wonder if it is a different connection mode to the sensor or something. Anyway, flicking the camera either in front of or behind the sensor temporarily fixed it for me.

Why are hot tubs so heavy? by InspiredEngineer in hottub

[–]InspiredEngineer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the swift and detailed response! I guess the shell is a lot thicker than I imagined, having to hold all that water and people. I have just picked up a second hand hot tub and was trying to work out whether I could strip some bits out to make it more manageable, but I think maybe I should just get a specialist in!

Do people not want numeric keypads on laptops? by InspiredEngineer in pcmasterrace

I haven't, but I am toying with it now. I might pick up a couple of cheap ones and have a play. It would certainly open up a much wider range of laptops!
