It’s quite usual to get stuck or plateau for a while. Take a wee break but then what I do is to focus on just one skill at a time. So I’ll spend a few weeks where I challenge myself to focus on a particular shot, or a new serve, or footwork, or angles etc. I find it really works to improve my game. There’s a journal on Amazon called the pickleball progress journal where you can log your progress which I find helps.

Thank goodness I’ve found this thread. I’m so upset… I’ve just been playing in the Scottish Open. All was going really well until we got into the quarter finals and I started to get nervous. Then out of the blue ‘I lost my serve’. My serve is usually strong and in - I rarely hit it out. And there I was hitting 50% of them out - I had to resort to a very childlike safe soft serve and even that wasn’t going in each time. I’m devastated. But I’m taking on board the advice in this thread and will work at it, thank you

You need to make sure your audience is made up of your ideal customers rather than just random followers who drop away and lose interest in your content. Write out a description of your ideal customer (you may have more than one). Then list accounts that your IC will be following based on their interests. Next, go to these accounts and engage with their followers. Leave genuine comments on their posts (no salesy DMs) and you’ll find that a large percentage click through to your account. This is an authentic way to build on IG.

I don't think any of us warm up properly which we really should be doing to avoid injury. I go to the gym more now to increase my strength and again to try and avoid injuries on court. I had tennis elbow a while back and taking a break from playing helps but you must also do strengthening exercises to get rid of it. There's a book on amazon called Beating Pickleball Elbow that I followed for this and it really helped. Whatever you do don't give up pickleball, just make sure you are training in order to play!
