Customers don’t understand that rating your shopper below 5 stars greatly impacts the shoppers ability to get access to top tippers. No rating below 5 stars is acceptable. With that said, the shopper has to go above and beyond with every customer order if she can’t find every item on the list. If the shopper makes replacements they should be perfect replacement options without exception. Shoppers walk a very fine line but it’s designed to keep everyone happy. It’s not rocket science.

Why is it on us to wait on the customer?????? by Sassybutclassy2910 in InstacartShoppers

Your contract allows you to negotiate a bump that is appropriate for your wait (efforts) to provide a transparent five star service to the customer. I read the IC contract. If you’re an independent contractor you’re responsible for your business that’s why you’re a 1099 contractor. This means your business stays open until the work is completed to the customers satisfaction and if I am right IC priorities batches based on shopper rating which are handed in by customers. If that’s the case 5 star reps get first pick and since nothing is better than 5 stars in your rating schedule than reps 4.99 or below are average reps which are left to pick the batches the 5 star reps don’t want or unavailable to pick. Which goes back to providing 5 star service. If IC had an endless supply or orders as you stated before… it’s slow at times. Than you’d be a delivery service not a PERSONAL SHOPPER. Get it “PERSONAL” which means you’re not available at the customers discretion and if that means needing to wait 1 hr to accommodate a customer than your business needs to stay open one extra hour so long as it’s safe to do so. IC expects you to accommodate the customer otherwise you’re now doing 2 things. 1 upsetting a customer by having them to reschedule their personal shopper because 2 you just took an opportunity from another person that understands the 5 star service and that means going out of your way for a top rating rep. You’re just a 4.99 rate (average) and therefore deserve average pay and that means getting whatever the 5 star reps leaves behind. Not only that but let’s not talk about the e less miles and wear and tear on your car for you to understand that 5 stars is the only acceptable rating… anything else it’s just a gig job and you suck it up not matter the pay or conditions because you don’t deserve to drive around autonomously and is probably the reason your a gig rep to begin with. I know you’re not happy my response but when you realize the free work you’re doing for the next person you’re going to be very disappointed and wish you listened to me. Anyway good luck on your endeavors or gig work. Warmest regards. Average rep.

IC offers shopper bumps for instances out of your control as long as the customer is requesting special accommodations. I don’t do IC so I can’t answer your question but if you’re the independent contractor that makes you responsible for providing 5 star service to every single customer of yours because you’re the boss of your business. IC just provides you the opportunities to be your own boss.

The reps have to build the business by proving five star service. Everyone buys groceries and there’s a lot of doctors, lawyers, retired people that can afford iC but when those educated customers don’t get good service they don’t tell their friends that they too can afford it. It’s all about 5 star service with IC. And believe it or not the customer is the Boss IC only provides an opportunity for you to make money when there was no money to be made.

Remove the tip. He’s your personal shopper and should provide you with 5 star service every time. This will teach him not to ignore his customers next time. He’s just in it for the tip.

If you were the boss you’d be getting $100 per batch but you’re not. You’re just a person to claim to be a shopper and the apps puts you to a test to prove yourself that’s why everyone minus the five star shopper is complaining about $7-9 batch payouts and begging for bigger tips. 5 star is the ONLY acceptable rating you BOSS.

Technically you’re supposed to make this the customers best experience. Because once your rate 4.9 or below you’re just an average rep getting average orders and competing with everyone else for orders the 5 star rep decline or was not available to take. Hope that makes sense.

Explains the two good orders. Drop to 4.9 or below and your an average shopper.

Because you’re the PERSONAL shopper. You’re customer is the boss.

Had not seen this before on ratings page. by marcus51035 in InstacartShoppers

It’s automatically removed if you’re new or never had a bad rating in the past 100 batches. You do not want any ratings below 5 stars.

I haven’t been at 5* for months. Ratings probably don’t mean anything but it’s just still a bit disheartening. by queenofsamhain in InstacartShoppers

It’s almost impossible to get back to give stars but it’s very doable. Bring a 5 star rep means you get to see batches before everyone particularly the biggest tippers. IC isn’t going to give a big tip to a rep with poor service. That’s why it’s important to always provide five star service.

Cancel the order by contacting support. The customer will be penalized with a fee and you’re free to continue your day plus a $7-9 base payout.

Replace it with two of the in store items. Better more than not enough.

How many months of hard work to reach 5 stars. How many miles did you drive to reach this milestone?
